Default What are you planting?

My Father, who is in heaven, desired to give me good things and he did for he is a loving Father, faithful and true.
He said to me, "Son, if you follow these simple instructions I have laid out for you, then your life will go well for you, you will have peace and joy and plenty. Remember son, you're going to reap what you sow."

Why is it, when we desire peaches and cherries, we plant briars and stinkweed? And then we wonder, "why can't I find any peaches and cherries among these thorny, stinky weeds?" We forget, you reap what you sow.

When you plant pain, in another person's life, you will reap pain in your own life...tenfold. When you plant joy in another person's life you will reap joy in your own, sometimes tenfold, sometimes one hundred fold. You will reap what you sow. What you want to receive, give. Do unto others as you would have done unto you. Love your neighbor as yourself and you will find a neighbor who loves you as himself.

The principle is so simple and true, I'm amazed that it took me 40 years to figure it out. It's not like I had to reinvent the wheel, the instructions were all laid out for me. I just had to read them and follow them.

I may be getting older, but it's not too late, I'm planting seeds of hope, love, joy and peace and praying for a bumper crop.

That is an excellent word Don, we reap what we sow.

Isa 2:4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

Our words can be swords for cutting, spears for piercing or by God's grace they can be instrument that bring life and bear fruit.
Thanks for being an instrument of life brother, this was timely for me.

Thank you for the compliment, it blesses me so much because I have so much respect and admiration for you, you are a blessing on this earth. It was not really me who wrote it, I'm just the typist, all glory belongs to God who gives us wonderful things.

I just planted a cherry tree. Everything else I've planted has died within a week because the ground where I live is so rocky.

So I dug deep! I used a pick axe and I labored hard. I crushed through the rock and tossed them aside. I kept the loose soil, and I dug, dug, dug.

The hole was about four feet deep when I was done. I filled it with good soil, loosening it up and stirring it. I talked to the tree and explained to it how it was God's creation and it was His Will for it to live.

I water the tree every day. I talk to it. I touch the brand new baby leaves that are growing and marvel at God's creation. So complex, so beautiful.

It's the first tree I've planted around my house that has lived! Glory to God!

In ten years, I'll have some good cherries. It takes patience and care. Hard work. But in the end, I will literally have the fruits of my labor come out of the ground in my own front yard.

Hmmm...works with many areas of my life, huh?

I marvel daily at the beauty and wonder of God's creation and I plant lot's of good fruit trees. I know that if I care for them, they will bless my grandchildren.

Hey Dusty,

Thanks for saying I made your day, you made mine yesterday. Isn't it wonderful how it works out? When you sow good things, you get good things in return.
