Default Have you gone mad?

Is the look i get when i tell my friend certain things about Christianity. Most of it is fine, but as soon as i get to say, The Rapture, talking about the dead being raised, us flying in the clouds, and all the things we aren't familiar with. He is thinking... uuuh ok.

Do you know what i mean? How do you explain the extraordinarily thats in the Bible?

Without sounding loopy! LOL.

I know what you mean. I think to some, you are just going to sound loopy. I believe if you try to explain it too much, you’ll just sound loopier. Some people just aren’t ready to hear it yet.

Is it that guy that comes at Christmas? I believe he's really an alien. How else could he fit down chimneys. Someone needs to capture him.

^ That's going mad James.

I find sooo many ways and theories that might turn me from God, but I always end up cold and loveless unless I turn to God. The love and beauties of life we appreciate naturally. And without this God I know, there is less or none of this.

You have to find wisom and God enough to be this sure though.

The answer to that question is; You tell them only when ask and don't make a novel of your reply.

Most of the time when people ask about the less known precepts of scripture it is because someone has already blown it out of proportion. Or they have happened upon them in a movie like "Left Behind", "The Passion" or "The Da Vinci Code" and or they have already made up their mind that it is fiction and are trying to justify rejecting it. In any case a long drawn out explination that contains opinion and drama rarely satifies the questioner and doesn't doen't help.
In such cases it is to us to separate fact from fiction for the individual, Not carry on or promote the hype. To get them into the word ,looking for themselves.

Discernment of the individual and their intent is vital. Don't be afraid to ask why they ask. And don't start dragging them down the path to salvation. That almost always sends them the other way, running Go as far with it as they want to go and drop it. Don't be intent on getting them baptized before the sun goes down
Don't give them the entire "left behind" series or the canned answer and if you don't know or can't explain it be honest about it.
Give them the simple truth. and if they never return at least you know that you have done what is right. And if they return you have gained a disciple for Christ and established a freindship and credibility.

Respectfully
Cliff

Tell them - "No, I'm not mad. I'm peculiar."

1 Peter 2:9 . . . But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light."
