Default Linguistics Paper--please help!

I wasn't sure where to post this, so I figured here would be a good spot. I'd really appreciate it if you would help me.
PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS BEFORE POSTING. THANK YOU!

For my linguistics paper, I am trying to write about whether or not grammar is necessary, and how it declined, etc. As a result of many things, I'm going to ask you to respond to this as honestly as you can.
Before you do anything, please say your age, method of schooling you experienced (private/parochial, public, homeschooling), and the grade/highest level of schooling you have had when you post. Please do not put your name. I'm doing this as a comparison between your scores and other people on various things.
In this, there are 17 questions on grammar and spelling, and I want you to answer them as honestly as possible. Please do not use any reference sources (dictionaries, grammar books, etc).
If you don't feel comfortable posting here, you may send your answers to me via a PM (if you decide to participate at all). On questions 16-17, you don't have to write a lot; just a sentence or two (or a paragraph if you would like) would be sufficient.
Thank you all for participating! I'll post the answers once I collect all the information for my paper.

16. I consider grammar to be quite important in everyday life. In daily conversations, whether on-line or personal, one will often be judged by their ability to form and express ideas clearly. Because of the many new methods of communication, people today have become lax with both grammar and spelling. A large number of slang expressions have risen as a result of new cultural influences, including text messaging, instant messaging, and e-mail.

17. I consider myself a moderately proficient grammarian and speller. Obviously, it's something that can be difficult to completely master.

I hope this helps, and I hope I didn't do too badly. Please be sure to send me the results!

16. [FREE RESPONSE]
What is your opinion on proper grammar and spelling? Is it necessary or unnecessary? Why or why not?

I think proper grammar is necessary but I'm old school! I also think that with the advent of a new, cell phone, abbreviated language that the younger generation can communicate with much less effort. It is a simpler and shorter way of communicating. Wht do u thnk? IDK!

17. [FREE RESPONSE]
Do you consider yourself a poor, fair, proficient, or excellent speller/grammatician?

I think I am fair to proficient.

Do you consider yourself a poor, fair, proficient, or excellent speller/grammatician? Well. . .I considered myself to be pretty proficient in my grammer, but after this test, I dunno.

I have tried to submit this reply 2 times now and for some reason, it gives me a notice that it is too short and that I need to lengthen it by 1 character. So, I'm trying this little messege below to see if it works. Bonnie

Bonnie you need at least one character outside of the quote box.

16. [FREE RESPONSE]
What is your opinion on proper grammar and spelling? Is it necessary or unnecessary? Why or why not?
Grammer and spelling are both subject to the culural norm. As a wise man once said; "How smart or stupid one appears often depends as much on who they are talking to and what is spoken about as how well it is said".
While I strive for better grammer and spelling ,getting the point across is more important to me. Sometimes that is best done with words and grammer common to those with whom one is communicating.
17. [FREE RESPONSE]
Do you consider yourself a poor, fair, proficient, or excellent speller/grammatician?
In general, I place myself between the fair and proficient categories, with spelling being my weaker point, but improving.
