Default Marriage... leaving father and mother for a wife?

Consider the following passage from Matthew 19:3-6:

3 Some Pharisees came and tried to trap him with this question: “Should a man be allowed to divorce his wife for just any reason?” 4 “Haven’t you read the Scriptures?” Jesus replied. “They record that from the beginning ‘God made them male and female.’ 5 And he said, ‘This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.’ 6 Since they are no longer two but one, let no one split apart what God has joined together.”

My thought for pondering is simply this...

What command or what guidelines are given to the boy or the girl, whom's parent's leave them, and therefore do not have the oppertunity nor the choice of leaving their father or mother to be with another in marriage? What guidelines are there for the willfully neglected fatherless or motherless boy or girl?

I believe the meaning in the scripture of a man leaving his parents for a wife has more to do with where his loyalty lies.

His first priority is his wife above anyone and everyone, except for God.

Violet is right. A man's loyalties change when he gets married. Or they should. That means that he doesnt run to Mother when things go wrong, he doesnt take his parents side over his wife's in an arguement or difficulty. He prefers his wife over his parents in that he listens to her, talks to her, makes decisions with her.
For those that for one reason or another do not have parents involved in their lives, then its a moot point. That is sad that there are families like that, but a fact of life. And becoming more and more prevalent.
When a woman gets married, it should be the same way. She should prefer her husband over her family in the same way.
