Default is anyone scared? help.. :(

I think im letting my doubts get through.
ever since i had tht dream on the end of days, i have been freaking out. I know that Christians should be excited for Jesus' second coming but for some reason I am so scared.
I dont know if its satan putting things in my head, but i feel like i might not be good enough. What if i'm left behind??? what if i go to hell?? i want nothing more than to be in Heaven with God but i have been doubting so much lately and have found it hard to get out of this frame of mind. I keep feeling like i should be a better Christian but i dotn know how. Im so scared that i'll be left behind after the rapture...like what if God only sees my doubts and stuff. I dont know... its really frightening me. I know I shouldnt be scared but I dont know how to get rid of this fear. I love God with all my heart but i have been goign through a tough time lately. Also, i'm worrying about my family - they are not Christian, but I love them so much and the thought of them not going to Heaven absolutely kills me. Im so upset and broken i have been crying all day.even at work im tearing up. I just dont know what to do....Im trying so hard to be right with God again, to build up my faith, but its like this ever present fear is there, and I dont know what to do.
I dont really knwo what im writing I just need help, some advice, prayers, anything.

Meh, Jesus is our best friend. I'm never scared to see my best friend. I'm excited. The possibilities and happiness are both endless with him.

Lyssa, I was scared too, but when I took Boanerges' advice and surrendered my life to Christ, I KNEW WITHOUT A DOUBT that if I died, I'd go to be with Christ.

I don't know what you did to become a Christian, but if I were you, I'd make a point of making God LORD OF MY LIFE. And that means you have to be prepared to making Him the BOSS OF YOUR LIFE. That means you have to "go to work" everyday (study His Word and talk to him about what you need to do).

Try kneeling down and putting into words the fact that you want Him to be Lord of your life and then spend time with Him.

I'm sorry if I'm coming off as being harsh. I'm just explaining how I came to know that I know that I will go to Heaven. I don't doubt it anymore.

Ok Lyssa, you are alone. It's time we starting acting instead of pondering on what we should do. Start today, leave some time for prayer and reading the Bible. Testify to others as much as you can. Don't be ashamed. If you love your family, then you should go ahead and tell them what you feel. Pray for them daily. Sometimes it takes courage and energy to do all this. The end result is more that you can imagine.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9)

Without thinking of the dream, if you have fear now, the fear is from satan. Take authority and kick him out.

As far as the dream you had, just remember one thing. Most dreams are symbolic, not literal. You can read about peoples dreams in the Bible. The only time a dream was literal was when an angel came to someone in a dream and gave them a message. Most were and still are symbolic. All of the prophesies haven’t been fulfilled yet, so I don’t think Jesus is coming back anytime soon. It will be soon in God’s time, but in our time, I don’t think it will be soon.

I’ll pray for you. And remember, God did not give you a spirit of fear and God is not the author of confusion. It’s going to be ok.

God bless
Dean

I think your doubt causes you to feel unworthy. Don't doubt. lol.

Yea, easier said than done right

I'm praying for you sis, all is fine.

Like Bonnie said, if you haven't commited your life fully, even if there's just one thing God is asking you to confess or something... Just do it up.

I'm not judging or assuming where you are in your walk, but I'll say once you know you just know. BUT, not at all times I must say because you have lows and have doubts regardless.

Lyssa, I too went through periods when I felt afraid, mostly I think because I wasnt sure of my salvation, or sure that those I loved would end up in Heaven, in a sense I wanted to be around to 'make sure' which is foolosih because I am not the Holy Spirit.
All I can say is repent of allowing fear to have access into your life, seriously, repent, and ask God to forgive you, then thank Him He has chosen you, and ask Him to fill you with the Holy Spirit, and to empower you to witness in a right way to your family.
They will be affected far more by you if they see what Jesus has done in your life.
It is easy around family, to behave in a less than godly way, we really need to be a good witness all of the time.
I would also suggest that if you arent already you get into a good bible believing fellowship, with leadership, that will take the time to stand with you, and support you.
Dont be afraid, Jesus loves you with a perfect love, and that perfect love casts out all fear.

Lyssa,
I used to be scared, just as you described.
I was so scared of looking up and seeing Christ and being left behind, as you said.

I believe now that as long as we follow God's word and do our best, it is ALL we can do.
Nobody can do more than their best.
The devil will always want us believing we are not good enough.
Have your heart right with God first and always and live from there.
Blessings to you.

If there are any doubts of your own salvation, asking for validation will only comfort the lost. In my personal experience I did this for years and kept telling myself that "I'm saved" even though nothing in my life indicated that I was anything but a Christian.

People say that salvation is a gift, a lot of people don't understand that it's also a choice. If you have any doubts your best option is to read the words and live in constant prayer. The spirit will grant you the knowledge you need through the reading of the word and he will restore your soul. Read Psalms 23. Memorize it because it's very profound.

If you have any doubts do what ever you can to remove them. I cannot express the importance of reading the word enough.

In the end, it's about who Jesus is and what He has done, not what you can do. Certainly it is important that one strive to obey and serve God, it is vital to surrender to His Lordship of your life. It is also important to place your confidence in His finished work and His present power and authority. It is by these that we stand in righteousness before the Father, and by these we are enabled to fight the battles of life. It is He who keeps us, even as we cling to Him. Doubts and fears? They can be scary, it is true. But what are they? They are nothing before Him Who is Faithful and True.
