I believe that you are a very sincere, genuine young man who as a real desire to please God.
That is wonderful. But I have also noticed from your many questions on the forum that you are in real need of some solid biblical teaching. You have so many questions. That is a good thing but you need teaching so that you can grow in your faith and understanding. I honestly believe that you need to find and get involved in a local bible believing church. This is necessary if you are to go further in your walk with God. Please do not just brush this aside. Make finding a good church the priority in your life for the next few weeks. I want to see you grow as a believer. God has plans for your future. But you need a solid foundation of teaching. (I am going to post this message in all your recent threads because I feel so strongly about it.)

I don't know much about it, but I think spiritual gifts are talents or special abilities given to us by God/Holy Spirit. I've heard it said that these talents may not reveal themselves for a long time, but I don't know of any scripture to back that up.
Paul talks about spiritual gifts in 1 Corinthians. 1 Corinthians 12 talks about spiritual gifts in general and about the "one body with many parts" which is the church. 1 Corinthians 14 talks about prophecy and speaking in tongues, which are included in the list of spiritual gifts in chapter 12. That's the only place I know in the Bible where it talks about spiritual gifts, but maybe someone else can point out other passages that talk about this. Romans 12:6-8
"Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophesy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering, he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness." Ministry- rendering of any type of service by any one in the church, or those with special abilities that effectively enables them to serve the body in physical ways (cleans the toilet, mows the lawn, makes and copies the bullitein, brings food or goods to the needy) Teaching-those who are specially gifted to keep an eye on and instruct the revealed truth of God's word, or to those in the office of teacher. He who exhorts- those who best apply God's truths thru encouragement or those who are called to bring encouragement to the church. He who gives-gifted to contribute to the emotional/physical support of others. He who leads-those who are gifted in administration, or effectively facilitate all areas of life. He who shows mercy- those who have a gift of strong, perceptive emotions, or those called to functions of Christian relief or acts of charity. (taken from study notes from The New Spirit Filled Life Bible) 2 Peter 4:10 "As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God." 1 Corinthians 12:8-11 is a list of the gifts. But also read chapters 13 and 14. The greatest gift is love. The greatest commandment is to love. Love each other, love your enemy, love God with all your heart, mind and soul.

The gifts of the Spirit are manifestations of the power of God. Each is given several (1Co 12:11) . These gifts n must be received by faith and can only be used as we walk in faith.

Hey, Leon!
You've received some great information on here. The most valuable, I believe, is from House.God gave you arms like wings, it's time to reach out and gather some information around you. Look at His beautiful world that He populated with so many different people! Wow! Go to church. When you're there, think about nothing else but learning the Word of God...don't think about women or sex or anything else; concentrate on receiving God's gift. Put all of your energy and might into receiving God's love and returning it. Don't let your mind wander. Stay focused on the teachings, my Friend...they're for you. Concentrate on growing, Leon. It's worth it. Spiritual gifts...in the course of my life, as a Shaker, I've seen some amazing gifts. Some people can let Christs love flow through them and He heals. Some people are protectors in the church, keeping bad things out. Some people are given the gift of tongues - where they become good speakers (from the heart) and immediately get everybody's attention. Some people are given empathy, where they feel the pain of those who don't like to complain about their own pain. Some people are given the gift of dance and singing to assist in the services. Some people are given a strong voice in prayer, where they ask for something and believe 100% that they're going to get it and the Father sees this faith and answers their prayers quickly. Some people are gifted builders of things - benches that the churches need. Porches leading into the church. Cement sidewalks for the church, etc. Some are gifted at cooking. Some are gifted at looking after the children. Some are gifted in looking after the elderly. Some are gifted with the spirit that they always want to have a broom or a mop in hand, keeping busy cleaning for the Lord. It's all for the Lord - never for us. Whatever we're good at, we grow in it. Not for our glory, but for our Father's glory. If we like to do something, we keep on doing this thing until we're good at it and can use this talent to please our Father. Let the Lord Almighty fan into flames your talents, for His glory. Peace, Leon.
