Default Holy Spirit praying for us?

Hi,

What does it mean by when the Holy Spirit prays for us by "groans" When we dont know what to say in prayer?

The Holy Spirit seems a really cool helper, is he praying for us so we dont have to?

Thanks,

J

The spirit speaks to the father in a way that we may not understand.

Have you ever lost a child? Imagine what you would feel if you 8 year old daughter had just died. The grief a parent would feeel can never be put into words. The growns will come from deep within our souls and that is the communication of the our spirit expressing something that we could never put into words.

This is only a type of communication that the spirit uses. For a Christian the spirit of the lords intercedes for us and communicates things that we cannot put into words and sometimes it just speaks to the father from our soul. It speaks of happy and sad things alike.

Kris, have you lost a child?
Sorry to pry, just wanted to comfort you if I can.

To me it means that sometimes when you cannot pray for some reason maybe a deep hurt or a serious illness . You can pray in tongues and then the Holy Spirit takes over and is praying for you.

I often wish I could pray in tongues, but I don't have that gift yet. If you ask Heavenly Father will He still pray for you with groanings?

I remember when my cousin, Danny, ran over his 2-yr. old little girl. At the funeral, all he could do was hold his stomach and groan, he was in serious pain. There was nothing the dr. could do for him. That is when the H.S. must take over for us, something like that.

I want so much for Bondman to come out of his last episode of overworking and his weakness in his heart, that I wish I could go to God with groanings. I mean, I intend to beg Him to help Bondman, but can't I do this and expect God to hear me and understand without the gift of tongues?

Sweetsurrender - Anything you turn over to the Lord in surrender letting your petition be know to Him will be heard. He is a willing listener. Your heart can speak to His heart. Petition Him with your appeal for Bondman and He will hear you. You do not need a special gift to be heard.

Then, too, there are times that even our own spirit can not utter our needs. That is when the Holy Spirit speaks for us and petitions for us.

No, I have not lost a child. Many nights I lie in bed and think about how much it would hurt me to lose one of mine and it drives me to love them and care for them that much more.

My mother still lives, throughout my life as a child I was repeatedly rejected by her for no real reason other than I looked like my father. I still remember the feeling of rejection and it's very similar to the feelings that of a child lost especially at a young age for me. Imagine the pain a child feels when they are rejected by their mother from birth, growing up needing her only to get pushed away repeatedly. It's a pain that never goes away, until one day by Gods grace I gained peace over the matter.

I am not saying I know what it feels like, but I can imagine what it must feel like and if it's any indication of how much it would hurt, the reality must be almost unbearable.

SweetSurrender, I agree with GrannyG. I don't speak in tongues, either, but I often pray to God about things either not knowing what to pray or not being able to adequately express it. I nevertheless cry out to God knowing that the Holy Spirit indeed intercedes for me in ways I never could. God is so good to us, enabling us to stand in His righteousness and to communicate with Him by His Spirit.
