Sorry, I havent read the whole bible yet. I am still learning. I am reading Galatians.
Galatians 5:2-4 Mark my words! I, Paul tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all. Again, I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law. |

Basically it is just saying that if you think by obeying the Law you will please God you are mistaken.
If you start trying with one bit, you have to follow all of it, and that is what Jesus delivered us from.

And that law is the ten commandments? If not, then what law is it?

The law encompassed every area of a Hebrew lifestyle. In the Old Covenant people were covered by animal sacrifice and obedience to religious regulations. This was temporary until the grace of God as no man could truly be pleasing to God through his own efforts. When the New Covenant came man was justified, sanctified and made acceptable by the sacrifice by Jesus Christ.
This was God's provision and it was complete and perfect. Many who had previously used the Old system of religious effort went back to trying to please God through their own efforts. This legalism was unacceptable and an affront to the sacrifice of our Saviour. Paul was calling these folks to make a choice- either they could accept the grace of God and walk His will in His power, His will, His leading and His strength or thy could reject this and go back to trying to do it themselves. Many today fall into the same trap. What wears me out and seems unbearable in my own strength is close to effortless when I walk it out depending on Him for every step.
