Default Have you ever dreamed that a family member died?

last night I had a dream that a family memeber (my aunt) died. She's got diabetes really bad in real life. But the thing is, she lives in another state and I haven't even been thinking about her recently. I love her, but I don't see her too often.

In the dream there was a funeral and everything. It really freaked me out. What do you think it means?

Well, I don't put too much stock in dreams. Yes, I have had such dreams. They are sometimes very horrifying, especially when you wake up and wonder if you were dreaming.

But even so, God may be reminding you to pray for her!

That sounds about right to me.

Sometimes hearing or reading of another person losing a family member causes us to have such a dream.

Yes, I had one dream about my grandfather.

Some man came by the house, and my grandfather looked out the window and the man shot my grandfather and killed him.

I believe it was worked of my fear of my grandfather getting int something stupid and getting himself killed. He's a very successful man and tends to act rudely around his co-workers, and I don't know what they might do if he starts getting aggressive.

But it never happened so I just say it was my own imagination.

Now, if a big bucket of ice cream snatched him up I may second guess it.

I have had loads of similar dreams recently.
In fact three nights ago I dreamt my father in law dies, in a lot of deatil, but he has been dead for four years!
I think sometimes it is a reminder to pray for someone, other times it is our sub conscious, but pray anyway.

I remember last year i had the most REAL dream ever that one of my best friends died. I remember it happened in her modern history class (specific haha) and we were at her funeral, and i turned around and she was in the corner like an angel. She's really close to God.
But yeah i woke up with tears streaming down my cheeks. It was soo real.
But she didnt even take modern history this year at school,so i think it was just a dream.

Ok everybody put your stones away ... here me out. I do not discount dreams ... I just make sure that they are not "cold pizza late at night" dreams, or are the ones that have meaning. Yes I have had promptings from the Holy Spirit through the interpretation of my dreams. Then again I take my dream symbols to Strongs Concordance and then study scripture and pray.

The above aside I do agree with one using death dreams as a prompting to pray for the individuals. I also have had dreams of someone's death and have had a phone call the next day in which I received the news of said person's death. So, it does happen, but you shouldn't immediately assume physical death with death dreams.

Death in dreams ... can signify the potential death of a relationship .. or a sign that you need to examine your "heart condition" .. you might be doing something that you are not conscious of that is hampering your outward witness of your Christian Walk.

Bottom line take your dreams and their symbols ( the mind communicates in picture forms) to the Lord in prayer, and ask for God's Holy Spirit guidance.

Jesus Love,

Bible

I have to agree silver. I learned to pray and ask for the Lord to reveal if there are any significant meaning to dreams I have. He is very good about revealing what is needed to be known.

When I was about the age of 11 or 12 I had the most terrifying dream. I dreamt that the Rincon mountains were on fire. The fire was moving at a rapid pace and me and my grandmother could not escape the flames. The dream was filled with terror and fright and when I awoke I was drenched in sweat. I cried for a good week afterwards. It was so real I never forget it either.

When I was 25 my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer. She was diagnosed in late February early March and only lived until the following August. During that summer we had an active monsoon season, and not only did the Catalina mountains catch fire but so did the Rincons. The Rincon fire was out of control and each night lightening would strike another part of the mountain causing more fires. The fire raged and at night it looked as if the entire mountain was lit up and fingers of fire were headed my way at a rapid rate of speed.

I happened to live on the side of town near the Rincons. People were having to be evacuated due to safety of their homes catching on fire and the smoke. The smoke was overwhelming. At this same time my grandmother was going through operation after operation, chemotherapy, and was so very sick.

For years I kept thinking about how I dreamt it then it happened and my grandmother died. But here lately I've been thinking about this and have come to realize some things.

During the last five months of my grandmother's life there was a fight between my mother and I over the salvation of my grandmother. My grandmother adopted me because of my mothers crazy life. The crazy life my mother lived was one of practicing satanism. One day my mother demanded my grandmother go to a specialized medium for healing, but my grandmother refused. My grandmother told her about a woman she met in the grocery store who told her her story of being healed by the Lord Jesus Christ.

Now Jesus was spoke of in my home, but mostly by my grandfather. He was a vegtable by this time and I guess my mother had plenty of ground to roam. Usually my grandfather stood against her beliefs and she backed down or was asked to leave. My mother was outraged and out of her mouth came flying towards me that the Jesus I served was fake- she served the real jesus. The God I claimed was also a fake- her god was the supream God. She also let me know that the real jesus would conqueer my Jesus and I would be tortured and burned for my constant use of blasphemy towards him.

My grandmother was horrified. She couldn't believe that her own daughter claimed satan to be her god. After my grandmother let out a few words of chastisment and pain, I looked at my mother and said, "My God is God. My Lord is bigger, more powerful, and will take the god you serve and smash him. So whatever you have with your god, you bring it on. My God will win."

Okay word of wisdom, do not do this!

The dream at 11 or 12....I now see and understand that there was a fight for my grandmother's salvation. Which by the way, I learned two years after her death she did receive Christ as her Savior, but the flames and the horror was that of the spiritual war I encountered. And it was terrible!

I went to a church that believed I should be able to say the name of Jesus and that which my mother spent her entire life devoted to should go away.

My children were in jepordy, my marriage crumbled as my husband became more abusive, into drugs and alcohol, and had more affairs. There was sickness and demons, children being thrown from their beds.

I mean it was so horrible, awful, awful, awful. And I was by myself. The Lord had healed my son and I agreed to do whatever He wanted and go wherever He wanted.

No one would help me. I had some spiritual warfare packets and would pray up to four or five times a day. I would visualize Jesus and literally take His robes and hide behind him. I would sing children's songs learned in Sunday school.

My step-daughter to this day remembers and has tried to explain the events of that time only to be told she has a great imagination.

The Lord finally put me in a group of believers who knew and understood what I was going through; however, I dealt with the warfare for about a year and a half before their help. It was a crazy time. It was a frightening time. It was a time to learn who and what my Lord God is.

This is actually the first time I've really talked about it. Thanks for reading.
