My hubby is so generous and compassionate!
Last night, we went to the store, and we were asked by a young man (ok, young to me!) to help him jump off his pickup. My hubby worked and worked, and finally figured out, it was a battery terminal and the starter. My hubby let him use his cell phone to call for a ride home. He had a young wife, and a 2 yr old precious girl with him. He said he could get home, and had the money for a starter, but would have to wait until Tuesday (next week) before he could get the terminal. My hubby gave him money to buy a terminal right there, so he would not have to wait.
Brought tears to my eyes, it did!

You have a real sweetie there, Fluff! It hopefully renewed some faith in mankind for this young man and his family.

KitsapGirl, I keep wondering about what is said at the end of your posts. Is it a song? And why does it end in mid-sentence? It's very interesting and deep. Bonnie

It's "Undo" by Rush of Fools....

I just heard it last week, and it brought me to tears...

My spouse is controling, painfully detailed, self rightous, can do no wrong, yet finds errors in everything I do. This isn't an exaduration. There are so many double standards I could never list them all.

My spouse is Christian but with any message we listen to or they listen to they will see how the message was speaking directly to me and my many, many, faults.

So count your blessings
First off... maybe God have mercy on you.

OCPD... perhaps it's not merely the way she is? Perhaps it is her *imperfection* that needs corrected, and she hasn't spent enough time correcting it?

My wife has OCD... and I can see some tendencies in OCPD... perhaps not to the degree that your wife has. She loves me though, and we consider it...

Someone says, "I was born gay." Even if that were true. Even if you WERE born with a propencity to be drawn into a homosexual lifestyle... that simply means that is your sin you have to fight.

Someone may say, "I can't stop lying." Yes you can, and there may be something physical within you that has given you a propencity to lie... even so, it's not an excuse. It's just the sin you are going to have to fight.

We are always pointing to our "condition" and saying, "That's just the way I am." But, isn't God perfecting us? Are we not supposed to conform ourselves to the mind of Christ? It would not need to be so unless our minds were not conformed, and our personalities imperfect.

I've talked to my wife, and she does feel guilty sometimes about her OCD tendencies, and I've explained that she probably does have diagnosable OCD... that just means that THAT is her sin she will need to fight. OCD is not who she is. Life as a Christian is a walk towards perfection, and nobody is meant to stay where they are.

If your wife has OCPD, that's not always an excuse, especially for a Chrsitian. Maybe talk to her about that (I'm sure you have) and go to her with on of YOUR SINS, and confess them. I don't know what your relationship is like... but if there is any way you can explain to her that "This is not JUST 'the way you are,'"

I imagine, if we look deeply enough into our genetic code, we will find many tendencies to sin. Didn't God say that we have a sin nature? Hasn't God noticed this sin nature in us? Of course He has, but we aren't to excuse it as our nature. We identify it, and we struggle and strive to be perfect, just as our father in heaven is perfect.

My husband is very loving and forgiving. Which makes up for his being demanding and needing full time attention.

I thank God that he gave me a wife that could actually put up with me. I can be sarcastic and mean sometimes. I sometimes let her down in not completing tasks that I said I would. A typical self-seaking male. I can go all weekend and scrub the house from top to bottom or I can sit around and do nothing.

She stays at home all week and takes care of our kids. She stays up until 2 in the morning making sure I have clothes for work. She always has dinner ready when I get home. She listens to me when I have great days and listens if I had a bad day. In short, just like Christ, I have no reason to believe I diserve her.

Another miracle of God...
