Deuteronomy 11:13-15

So if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today--to love the LORD your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul--then I will send rain on your land in its season, both autumn and spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine and oil. I will provide grass in the fields for your cattle, and you will eat and be satisfied.

Another promise for total obedience- Rain. You may ask what’s so great. It’s just another season. The real thing is that we have started taking many blessings for granted. Imagine having “no rain�. That leads to drought in so many countries of the world. Famines and deaths are routine in such places. “Too much of rain� is also a problem. Floods and devastations that follow are a regular occurrence in many places.

God says he would love to send rain in its season both autumn and spring rains, not to create havoc but to enrich us with grain, new wine and oil.
Prayer is often considered as a last resort when seasonal rains do not come. But this, if seen as a priority would cause the “rain blessings� to come on time and in sufficiency.

Not only these rains. Many believers experience “Spiritual dryness� in certain seasons of their life. These too need a “spiritual rain blessing� from the Lord. Are you experiencing “spiritual drought?� Ask God for more of the Holy Spirit who will strengthen you and refresh you. Faithfully obey His commands, love Him, serve Him with all your heart and all your soul and God will send rain on your life, both autumn and spring rains and bless you abundantly, spiritually, physically and materially.

Spiritual dryness also happens when some of us give up. I think, patience is also the key to receiving the rain. unfortunately none of us are aptient enough. My point is that we need to develop this quality like how God's patiently waiting for us to turn back to Him. Its easier to pray during good health. Most of us don't realise this until the drought hits us.
