Yes! I know this is not a Christian message, but I need the opinion of girly gals here, since I am more of a tom boy...
Last weekend, instead of spending 1 hour on the Lordthrough study in my girl group again one member made excuse not to get into any study on Gods word... THis has been going on for a long time, in fact though we all agreed to this, we have never had a study... Instead 3 hours were spent on talking about shoes that a member of her church had given her... The other 2 hours was just as frivolous... I don't mind to tell you I was upset... I had to ride with my other friend so I didn't get home until 1:45am. Do most women think that shoes are that important

We sure do, they are an important part of our dress. The color and style must be just right for the occasion. I wear high-heals because they raise my butt up.
I mean...Hmm....Girls and their shoes....*Rolls eyes*... heh.

No, I now go for comfort rather than style, as my vanity was lost along with my bunions!
Seriously though, it doesnt honor God to sit and talk about shoes for hours when you are there for a different purpose. Yes, it is good to fellowship, yes it doesnt have to be scripture study all the time, but I think we should be people of our word, if we go to do something particular, we should follow through. |

I really can't see why women in particular spend so much time getting dressed and / or choosing clothes.
As long as a pair of shoes look good and are comfortable that is great. WHen I go shopping for shoes or clothes I just walk past the section that I want to buy from, think they look nice, they are a good make so are going to be comfortable, ask if they have them in my size and try them on and usually end up buying them....It takes me 10 minutes and 1 shop to buy something...not 10 hours and 50 shops...

For me, I wear one pair of shoes. No matter what the outfit, that is what I wear. When they wear out and I need new ones, I search for a pair of shoes in the same style.
 I like black heeled loafer-type shoes. Comfortable, practical, able to wear with anything and anywhere. I normally can find a good pair at Payless for about $12. I do own one pair of strappy-black heels for special, special dress occasions that I have worn twice in my life and have owned for about 9 years. And I own one pair of black heeled sandals that I have worn a handful of times and owned for 6 years.Can you tell how important shoes are to me? |

I only replace shoes when they fall to pieces... start to come apart... even then it takes me a month to replace them...

Shoes?
 Did somebody mention shoes? I like shoes.  I have a few pair. But then, I run thru shoes like most people run thru notebook paper. I"m hard on them and they wear out quick. (must be because I am clumsy, oops!) Seriously, though. I agree with Jax that there is a time and a place for casual fellowship and a time for serious committed bible study. It looks like the spirit of distraction had an assignment on your group and was successful. Something to keep on the look out for in the future.
