Default Dogs and fertalizer

Are there any Dog owners out there??? I want to fertalize the grass but I'm worried that it may be harmful to my yellow lab puppy. He's always chewing/licking everything. I can guarantee that whatever substance I throw on the lawn will be consumed by the "Hoover." I need a dog safe fertalizer.

Chicken litter (poop) My old neighbor used to put on his hay field. Talk about fast growing. Any farmers co-op should be able to point you in the right direction.

That stuff will grow plants but it is loaded with Salmonella- I do not know if that would harm your pup. perhaps you should ask your vet.

That’s what the neighbors yard is for.

Oh, wait… that might be a sin.

Love your neighbor as yourself… or something like that.

So is fertilizing their grass loving them- one of my nieghbors felt different once when my German Shepard got out of my yard and left them a present.

I would warn all dog owners that exposure to weed killers or anything that keeps pests away (insecticide) on grass, tends to increase the risk of dogs developing bladder cancer, a horrible end to a dogs life.
I went through this with my dog last year and did a lot of research on it.
I would only use natural stuff to fertilise or get rid of weeds myself.

If anyone else was wondering, the solution is to fertalize half the grass one week, and for that keep him on the other half when he has to make piles and whatnot. He'll have to stay on the leash, and he won't be getting much excercise for these couple days, which sucks, but it must be done. Next week we'll do the other half.
