Blessings for March. 4th 2008
Deuteronomy 1: 10, 11 The Lord your God has increased your numbers so that today you are as many as the stars in the sky. May the Lord, the God of your fathers, increase you a thousand times and bless you as he has promised! The promise was given long ago but found it’s fulfillment in God’s own time. The Lord is faithful and He will do what He has said if you hope and trust in Him. The Lord gave Abraham a promise that his descendants would be like the stars of the sky when he did not have a child of his own. He took him outside and said, "Look up at the heavens and count the stars - if indeed you can count them." Then he said to him, "So shall your offspring be." (Genesis 15:5) And then God reminded him again when he had 2 sons, but far from being like the stars of the sky. I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore…. (Genesis 22:17) Abraham “hoped against hope” and this is what we also can do. Even if the odds are all against us, we can hold onto the promise that says, “God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful. (1 Corinthians 1:9)” |

Amen indeed.
