Hi all this is my first post. First of all let me say that this is an awesome site and I have found a ton of great things here. I was saved when I was 12 years old about 8 years ago. Now 20 a Sophomore in college I have found my self far from the person I once was. I was never really active in my youth group at my home church, but I did visit several churches but was never over active in them. Here is my deal I have been fighting some addictions in my life. I don't drink, I don't do drugs. I am addicted to porn and I know it is wrong, but I always find myself back wallowing in it. I have spiritual highs when I feel as though I have defeated it and two weeks later its back. It has put a strain on my life and my relationship with God. I just want to have a relationship with God and serve him. I attend church and I know I am saved, I just want to develope my relationship with the Lord and give him my all.
Thanks for any and all replies. Please Pray for me. Dave aka N2TC |

Hi Dave, welcome to the CFS family! We can all look back and see times where we stumbled but that which is important now is this:
We ask for and receive His forgiveness We focus our minds and hearts on Him We get planted in a Church where we will be edified and encouraged in His Word and His love. As fas as addictions I am convinced that if we but cry out each time we are tempted and grasp by faith the power He sends we will soon find ourselves free. Heb 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Many blessings in Jesus's wonderful Name, your brother Larry.

Hi and welcome
![]() Pratically, protect yourself by getting rid of anything that pulls you back to porn, even the internet if it comes to it, also praying scripture everytime you are tempted with a relevant verse 9ask the Lord for some) will give you victory. |

This is starting to come in handy!
![]() I have been through this addiction and only recently become free of it, again. So many times I would view porn, knowing it was wrong, but it bring some satisfaction, but not the right kind of satisfaction. I would be viewing porn, repenting asking for firgiveness then 2 days later viewing it again and keep repenting and asking for forgiveness, that cycle went on for a few years. Each time I done it, I had a bit of satisfaction, even though I knew it was wrong. We all have a void in our hearts and we all need something to fill that void. Unfortuanetly, many Christians and non-Christians fill that void with the wrong thing, porn, drugs, theft, drunkeness ect ect, It all brings tempary satisfaction, but even though we know its wrong, we still use it because we want satisfaction. The only thing that really really satisfys our hearts is the love and forgiveness of Christ. As you may know, Being a Christian isn't easy at all. But listen, we care more about our sins that what Jesus does!! Come before God and cry out that you want to break free of this habbit, that in your own strength that you cannot do it and you need God to help you. God is waiting for you to turn to Him and for you to give your heart to Him so that He can help you break free of it! He loves you so much and wants you to be free, God is already there, He has already got the solution to your problem, even before you had it! He has done it! You have just got to give up your life to Him, Cry out to God for forgiveness and strength to overcome this. I have been through this and I know just how difficult it is to break free of it. Remember, In our own strength, we can do nothing, but we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us! If you are serious about breaking this habit, then you have to be serious to God about it. He is waiting for you to come running back to Him. Once you remove this habit from that "void" in your heart, you will have an empty void in your heart that will need filling. The best thing for healing that void is to get closer to God in your relationship with Him. Spend time whenever you have it just worshipping God, Praying to Him, Praising Him just talk to Him like he's your best freind and he's stood beside you. Jesus is the bestest friend you can ever have! Just take your focus off the lust / porn and focus on Him. Thats what He is waiting for. He's waiting for you to give Him your heart. I know this is going to be hard, But take it from me, You stick with it and you WILL be FREE !!! God has to take you through this, there is a wall between you and God at the moment, that wall is porn. God could easily lift you up over that wall, but He doesn't do it like that, If He lifts you over teh wall then you won't be able to stand up to it if it happens again. Instead God helps you break down or break through that wall that is holding you back from getting Closer to Him! So that if the temptation ever comes close to us, We can fight off the temptation. God will show you the way out. You have just got to trust Him. In 1 Corinthians 10:13 it says No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. When ever you are tempted, say NO! Pray to God ask to kill that temptation. Keep at it. Keep resisting the devil and he WILL flee from you! Do something great, today! Delete ANY pictures, videos, internet favorites, browsing history, chuck any magazines, dvd's, videos ect away. And Keep searching, MAKE SURE everything is clean. I thought I had deleted everything from my PC before and turned out I had a few things left on here, and the devil will use them against you. This bit in Blue is what Brother Larry Shared with me and now I am sharing it with you, I hope that is ok, Brother Larry? Rom 7:19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Rom 7:20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. Rom 7:21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. Rom 7:22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: Rom 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. Rom 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? Rom 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. These Words were written by one of the greatest men of God who ever lived. If he can struggle with his flesh then so can we. If we fall we get up and start back anew. Anytime we try to live life in our own strenght independant of God we will fall. And then there are times when we just flat out choose to sin. This can escalate until we are at a point were this seems unescapable but I can tell you it is not. If we but stop even for a moment and call on Jesus He will send deliverance. If we do this every time we are tempted we will not fall. It will then be down to those times when we really want to sin that we will stumble as opposed to those times we felt helpless and out of control. We are called to fight the good fight of faith and we are called to not weary in well doing. If we began to submit our hearts to God each time this situation arises it will began to loose it's power. If we simply allow ourself to be drawn in then we will fall. It really is a simple as crying out " Jesus help me and deliver me from this" at the very moment of temptation. The choice is ours and victory can be found in Christ alone. If we do fall will he keep forgiving us? Yes- God never rejects a man who is honestly struggling and wants to be free. The deep feeling of dispair and the heartbreak felt after such actions is simply our spirit reacting to the conviction we are feeling. Many have been lied to. They think they cannot be free but this just isn't so. Again each time we put something like this in Christ's hands it looses power and attraction to us. While we will always have desires (as this is part of our physical make up) they are not overpowering when placed in proper perspective. There is simply an overwhelming deluge of stimulation in todays culture. They way girls dress, the tv, magazines ,bill boards, etc. Even so we can call on Christ and ask Him to help us to see things thru His eyes. Don't give up, don't be discouraged and don't waery of well doing. We all fall at some time in our lives, weather it is only a couple of times or loads of times, but remember, God loves us no matter what!!! I hope that this is of some help to you Brother.

N2TC,
This struggle is as much spiritual as it is physical. There is a downward spiral that leads to a dark desire to seek more and get more. The more we feed it the more it pulls us in. Born2loveyou has given you some excellent advise. Protect your mind, be careful what you look at, becareful what you think of - especially when you are tired or stressed. Becareful what you listen to. We are exposed everyday to sexual images, music etc. It is the second glance that leads us into temptation and inevitably leads to our fall. Sometimes it is small insignificant things that start the downward spiral of trying to feed our voids. Jesus is the living water, only He can fill our voids. Ask God to show you what you are really looking for. It is different for each of us but often is is just plain and simple love that we are looking for in the wrong places. Do not let satan condem you, you are not a failure. God will never leave us or forsake us. satan created this trap of porn, he abuses men and women to do his deeds. These people who are actually involved in the making of porn are just lost people who are often lured into this vial world through satans lies. These women you see are somebodies daughter and more often than not somebodies mother. See them through Jesus eye's and you will see people in terrible need of salvation. Read where Jesus spoke to the women at the well and where Jesus spoke to the women accused of adultery. Jesus forgave both of them and they repented of their ways. You are not far off from overcoming this addiction. That is a lie from satan. See your struggle as a direct conflict between yourself and satan. That little voice that tells you not to delete images just yet or not to throw away magazines just yet is from satan. Jesus will set you free, you just have to make a stand. Is today your day of victory? The battle will be hard but there is an incredible feeling of victory everytime we overcome temptation. Make a stand, write down the date where you can see it everyday and remind yourself everyday, that is the day I took a stand. Jesus is with you, satan cannot stand against you. Only you can give satan ground in this battle. Try and get a christian freind who you trust and speak to them daily and be accountable to them. If you fall they can help pick you up and they can also celebrate in your victories. I will pray for you.

reposting is fun.
![]() pornography is an addiction that is hard to break. I know because I was entrenched in the **** for a LONG time... it had it's start when I was an atheist.. and my rather large collection of videos... and I cannot say there has been more than a couple of years between "outbreaks" ... but it is not a fight I give up... and I tell you I am a lot better at fighting than I used to be.. what would have been a fall is now a surrender to Christ... it actually gets easier with time because it becomes habit... as soon as temptation rears.. RUN! RUN! RUN! ...
