Larry do you actually know a born again , spirit filled Christian that is living in deliberate and wilful sin?
I dont, I know some who aren't born again, but do 'believe' that are,
but every truly born again Christian I know, wants to please God, and is struggling to do so, usually because they feel discouraged or haven't understood what God has been showing them.
Conviction is a work of the Holy Spirit not the flesh,
we can see what some people are doing wrong, and yet miss something in our own lives, that isnt as obvious, but is just as serious.
I trust the Holy Spirit to show those that are His what they are doing wrong , only He can give the desire to want to do the right thing, we cant make ourselves good, we just cant.
Maybe I am looking at this from an entirely different angle, but I just believe that we are all a work in progress, we are all being changed into His likeness, in His timing.
What we see as sin in someone elses life, may just be a project for later for the Lord.
I am not excusing sin, but I am saying that none of us are perfect yet, some are more nearly perfect than others, but God has usually been working on them longer!

The tares look like wheat, smell like wheat and yet bear only ungodly fruit. No I do not know as born again person like that but I know several who are deluded and being deluded into thinking that they are born again while the whole time rejecting God's Word. There are of course those who taste of God nad never enter His Kingdom:

Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
Heb 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
Heb 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

But these fell after coming to God. I am referring to lost sheep who take the Name of Christ yet never walk His way or repent.

While this is better than good news for us all it is also sad to say that some use this as an excuse to accept any kind of ungodly behaviour.
God said thou shalt not murder- I cannot come here as a murderer with intentions to keep murdering all the time trying to convince everyone that God is ok with my continued murdering. Yep sin is sin, we all stumble but we are not to have a lifestyle based on what God hates. God indeed acepts those who are struggling to get free and is forgiving when we stumble and repent but never mistake mercy and love for weakness. If one spends their whole life and lifestyle devoted to that which God hates and purposes in their heart to do so then that one will find themselves in dire straights on judgement day.

These are of course my opinions on the subject.
Yep , I agree..... sin is sin and we cannot put any in a catagory and say one is worse than the other . We are fooling no body but ourselves. God is not mocked and those who think they can be saved and continue doing the things before they were saved are not saved at all.

We have the Holy Spirit who helps us through all our temptations and we can purpose in our minds and hearts with the help of the Holy Spirit to follow God's plan. We have also been given choice to use wisely.

I for one cannot understand how some one like you said a murder or whoever can continue on the same path if they are saved and expect to receive God's blessings.

Of course none of us is perfect but we pick our selves up , ask for forgiveness and walk the straight path of righteousness.

And like you said my son some do use this excuse to justify their behaviour. That is why you see so many just walking around like zombees not know ing their purpose . Sorry , my friend , it doesn't work that way. Sin is sin and God hates sin but loves the sinner.

Repent , pick up your mat and follow Jesus Christ whom to know is life eternal. No other way will work.

To put this in perspective you must ask yourself this- can you truly come to Christ while completely denying His truth and disobeying His Word as a lifestyle- the result is the tare of Mat 13:36-38 .
All Jesus forgave were told to go and sin no more. The Lord never once said you can live like the devil and it will be OK.

That is exactly right my son . We cannot coddle these persons. Especially if we know that these persons do know the way but are going their own way. I see it in my own family. My gay neice, her mother keeps feeling sorry for her and her relationships as they go amiss. Oh she says she must be really feeling the pain and hurt when the two girls broke up. Sorry , that does not cut it. We have to take a different approach. When this girl told me( because she knows the way) she is going to Hell and she knows it and I tried to talk to her and she rejected me., I said to myself, I must pray for this girl and that is the only way she is going to see the truth and sorry but if she died today she would not have another chance.

Later that day, Jesus ate at Levi's house. There were many
tax collectors and other bad people eating there with Jesus
and his followers. There were many of these people that
followed Jesus. The teachers of the law (they were Pharisees)
saw Jesus eating with these tax collectors and other bad
people. They asked Jesus' followers, "Why does he (Jesus) eat
with tax collectors and sinners?" Jesus heard this, and he
said to them, "Healthy people don't need a doctor. It is the
sick people that need a doctor. I did not come to invite good
people. I came to invite sinners."

-- Mark 2:15-17 (ERV)

Jesus came to save sinners. Yes, all of us are sinners. Unfortunately,
many try to pretend they are not sinners or defend the sins they have
committed as "normal failures" or "mistakes." This is true even of
people who consider themselves religious. Jesus reminds us that he came
to rescue sinners. He came for us. He came to call us to join him in
the work.

Mat 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Mat 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Mat 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
Mat 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Mat 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Mat 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

My apologies Larry, sincerely, I misunderstood what you were saying.
I am just tired of guilt trips that I have had laid on me (not by you)
When I was a young Christian really trying to do my best with what God had shown me.
It was only later that the Lord showed me that I was a work in progress and that my heart was to serve Him.
I agree totally that we shouldnt spoon feed lies about becoming a Christian and God accepting that we carry on the same , that isnt true at all.
My son is an example, he knows that God has called him, and yet he hasnt seen yet that his life isnt honouring to God, I have said to Him, Matt you need to come to the Cross and repent, God wont honour wrongdoing, He wont say 'Oh that's ok son', we have to come empty handed, without agenda and in submission.
But then we are led into the greatest gift of all.

Thank you, Jax. I'll be praying for your son. Sounds like you love him very much; and God loves him even more. God bless you.
