I went to a park to feed the birds yesterday. I love doing that. The birds come flying to me, eager to be filled.
Here's what I do...I take the birdseed and put it in a bag. Then I walk gently into the park, being careful not to make any sudden movements that might scare the birds away. I smile, so they know that I'm a friend. I take a seat on a bench and wait patiently for the birds to come to me. One by one, they will. Then, when there's enough of them gathered around, I slowly (everso gently) take a handful of birdseed out of the bag and scatter it around. The birds love it! They run around, gathering up as much seeds as they can, eating and loving it! Sometimes they fight among themselves to keep some of the seed for themselves, but everybody always gets their fair share because one bird can't hog all of the seed everywhere. The key is to be kind, cautious. Move slowly. Birds can be frightened easily, just like some people. If I took a whole 20-lb sack of birdseed into the park and dragged it along behind me, huffing and puffing, grunting and cursing, it would scare the birds away. If I ran screaming into the park, the birds wouldn't come anywhere near me. If I pelted the birds with seed whenever they approached me, insisting that they eat, they'd fly away and would never trust me again. The reason I like to feed the birds is because I love them. I love to watch them gather up their seeds. During the winter months, birdseed can keep the birds from dying. It feeds their young. It fills them up and satisfies them. I feel close to God when I'm feeding the birds. I never feed the birds when I'm angry. I never feed the birds when I feel like keeping all of the seed to myself. I can't feed the birds when I can't afford to buy the seed.

Cool..... Where do you see birds at this time of year..... not here anyways . I think they are all hybernating.... LOL ....
Actually that's not true cause just a couple of days ago I saw the biggest crows , I have ever seen, fighting in the tree behind me and then as I was watching a hawk came and sat in that tree. Now that is a rarety in the heart of the city.

Dusty - the birds are people looking for something to sustain them. The seed is the Word of God.
![]() See? If I run up to them screaming and pelting them with the seed, they'll get scared and fly away. I might never see the same bird twice. But if I approach them gently, with genuine love in my heart and make sure everybody gets some, they benefit. ![]() It's just something that Pastor Arnold Murray got me thinking about this morning.
