Default It's all for the show

I started thinking about people who claim to be "Christian", and I can tell they're just putting on a show.

I'm not saying all people on television who talk about Christianity are like this, I'm talking about the majority of them that do.

To the uneducated eye, one may think, "Oh, wow, he's really religious!" (or spiritual). But, even though I cannot see into the heart of these people, I can tell they are putting on a show.

It's all about the money, more and more and more. They're being ruled by their greedy desires that they are willing to ACT like Christians when they are not. It doesn't surprise me though, how much people are controlled by their worldly desires.

The one thing I know, is that, even if I can spot someone doing something wrong, I leave it up to God, who knows Truth. I can avoid these tricksters and keep my eyes focused on God, not a new car or a big house - because God will bless my with that, not a prayer cloth.

And I am not judging, but instead pointing out my concerns and thoughts. I don't want to go around like some people saying, "Oh my gosh, you're going to HELL" and all that, because I don't think we should be judging one another. I don't even like it when churches, pastors, or priests, "scare" people into believing in Jesus. God doesn't "scare" us into believing Him, not threatening us (and I mean THREATening) with hateful, condemning words.

Oh, I went off again, tee hee.

Every now and then, I like to just take off. I'll get in my car and drive for the weekend, not knowing where I'll wind up.

I once wound up in a big town (no names here). I stayed in a motel, and across the street was a church. I got up in the morning and went over.

It was beautiful! They had huge curtains on their stage, monitors hanging from the ceiling, expensive chair, vast open spaces. The entire place smelled like a floral shop! They were so blessed, I thought, as I took a seat and waited.

Then the services started. This is why you should tithe, they said. They passed the bucket around (expensive velvet bags). Their guest speaker spoke about tithing, and how it was wrong not to dig deep.

I watched, confused, as some of the people got up to leave. The guy behind me whispered to his wife (I hope), "Not again!"

When he was done, they passed the buckets around again.

We all rose to sing songs, lyrics displayed on these huge TV's hanging from the ceiling. And then...they passed the buckets around again!

More people left.

I left that morning feeling hungry and tired.

Wow...do you know why the people left.

What were they doing? Taking people's money every 5 minutes? I wouldn't blame those people for leaving because of that.

I agree.

Sometimes, we become so focused on our riches and wealth, it becomes more of a curse than a blessing. We want more and more and more that we turn our eyes off who gave it to us and begin to worship it.

If the Holy Spirit isn't there I am not staying. A dead dry service is worse than death.

Personally? Let the holy spirit flow through you. Let it all out and give God the glory. Praise Jesus with all your might, not for our own cause...but for His. People will feel this and at the end of the sermon there won't even be a need to ask for donations because the buckets will be overflowing.

Whoo-hoo!

Lmbo! I agree. Maybe if the pastors and runners of the Church started praising God instead of patting themselves on their backs, they wouldn't have to "claim" to have the blood of Jesus in a bottle and Holy olive oil!
