There's a sin I committed today, and I'm so mad at myself for doing it. I don't think it matters to say what the sin is, because all sins are the same in God's eyes, but I'm not sure that I'm forgiven. Let me explain.
Everytime I do this sin, I do it knowing that I'm wrong, and knowing that the Bible says I'll be forgiven. That's the thing. I go into the sin knowing that I can ask forgiveness. And I've done this on quite a few occasions. I'm so mad at myself every time I do it. And I know that the Bible clearly says that you can't sin, ask forgiveness, and expect to be forgiven if you repeatedly commit the sin. Don't know where in the Bible it is, but I've read it. I'm mad at myself and I'm not sure that I'm forgiven. Can someone help me? Thanks.

Rom 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
I think this may be the verse you were thinking of. All I can say is… I do the same thing at times. I do believe I’m getting better, but that is still no excuse. There are times I know what I am doing is a sin, but I justify it at times. I believe my biggest problem is when I know what is right to do and I don’t do it. Jam 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. You are not alone.

Is this the verse you are thinking of ?
1 John 3:6 Anyone who continues to live in him will not sin. But anyone who keeps on sinning does not know him or understand who he is. or this ? 7 Dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it shows that they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous. 8 But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil. 9 Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life[a] is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God. 10 So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the devil. Anyone who does not live righteously and does not love other believers[b] does not belong to God.

We are all sinners, and we are all bound to make mistakes and slip-up and sin in our walk with God. The good things is that God is merciful and does not require us to be "perfect", etc. You are forgiven, once you ask you are forgiven. Don't beat yourself up for it. Sinning (in the case of just sinning, not blashempy (sp?) of the Holy Spirit) is like dropping an ice cream on the ground, or breaking a vase. It's not a death sentence, and you'll be forgiven for what you have done.

Romans has a lot to say about sin. My bible has many underlines in Romans. Here is one.
Romans7:15 15I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. 16And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. 17As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. 18I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature.[c] For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. 20Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. |

Just a note: there are distinctions between sins. Some are much worse than others. But yes, sin is the greatest evil in the world. We all sin, each and every day. We have to forgive ourselves and return to Christ every time we do it. Before you perform this particular sin, think of how it will affect God, yourself, and others. I know I always say this, but think about Christ's passion. Each time we sin, it's like we hit that nail and drive it into his hand or feet just even more. We've all done it, and we all deserve no mercy from God. But He gives it freely. He will forgive you if you make a firm commitment not to commit the sin again.
God bless!

I Heart,
As Da Man pointed out in Romans 7 Paul the apostle told of his personal struggle with the flesh, doing things he did not want to do. In Galatians 5:16 he says: Walk in the Spirit and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. Paul gives the solution in Galatians 2:20: I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me. We all have been in this situation and I encourage you to bring this sin to our Lord Jesus and ask Him to deliver you from it. If we continue in deliberate sin in rebellion against what we know to be the right path it does grieve the Holy Spirit. And here is the good news: There is therefore now no condemnation to the which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Rom. 8:1 Take heart, I Heart, He IS faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness! In Christ, Boyd
