Smile Christian death

There was a phrase on a Billy Graham book saying that the death of a Christian is painless. Maybe I read it wrong. But that would be a nice.

What book?
And in what context did he say that?

I do know that the Bible says that Jesus took the sting out of death for the believer, and that we dont need to fear it.
Psalm 73:4 says 4For they suffer no violent pangs in their death, but their strength is firm

Hebrews 2:15 says
15And also that He might deliver and completely set free all those who through the [haunting] fear of death were held in bondage throughout the whole course of their lives.
I believe for thos of us that believe in Him, we have nothing to fear, except not obeying His will.

I don't know about that but I do know that we are never promised an easy death and some might go through worse pain than others but as a Christian we have the hope of going to our eternal resting place and that hope can carry us through anything.

You have to look at all the people who have been martered and suffer for the cross... missionaries in foreign lands... and even today Christians in countries where Christianity is forbidden.

We do not know how we will die but we have a glorious hope in Jesus Christ , that He will be there with us to comfort us 24/7. and that to me is the most comforting promise

The last quoted verse says it all for me.
Ecclesiastes 8:8
No man has power over the wind to contain it ; so no one has power over the day of his death. As no one is discharged in time of war, so wickedness will not release those who practice it.

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:38

38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers

1 Corinthians 15:26
The last enemy to be destroyed is death.
1 Corinthians 15:54
When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: "Death has been swallowed up in victory."
1 Corinthians 15:55
"Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?"
Philippians 3:10
I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,
Hebrews 11:37
They were stoned ; they were sawed in two; they were put to death by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated
Revelation 2:10
Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Housesitter, its on a Billy Graham book Peace with God, chapter 7 "After Death-What?.".......

Death outside of Christian influence is filled with horror and despair-or, at best, resignation and indifference...... Man had always looked upon death as an enemy, but Jesus said that He had conquered death and taken the very sting out of death.

Default shall not see death

I believe "shall not see death" was the phrase HE used. Billy Graham's own mother, while on her death bed said she saw Jesus approaching and then died. So from her point of view, one minute in the bedroom talking with relatives, next minute in the other world talking with Jesus. So, the virtuous will never experience the moment of death, doesn't mean though that you won't have a rough time before that.

I feel that death would be without pain. It is all the suffering one has before that is painful. Death is the release of pain and the beginning of that journey to be with GOD.

To die is to leave the pain of this mortality and be with our Lord- that is truly glorious! Yes the body may suffer but our spirit will soar!

One comedian I watched said: "I'm not afraid of death...it's all the pain that I have to get through to get there!"

When we believe in Jesus and love Him and obey God's commandments, we will not perish, but have eternal life. I'm going to try hard to remember that on my death bed. Or while gripping tight to my death steeringwheel, whatever.
