Absent from the body .... present with the Lord..... What greater reward for all our pain and suffering here on earth. Glory to God in the highest !!!!

Feel pain in life but feel not pain at death. It is bliss.

My grandpa, a Shaker, was a Christian his entire life.

On his death bed, he was in so much pain...he died of throat cancer. But during the final hours, he went peaceful and quiet. He was still able to talk and listen to us. Everybody gathered around...politicians, pastors, family. The former governor of Oregon was there.

Finally, grandpa raised his hands and screamed out: "Massi!" which in our language means "Thank you, Jesus!" And then he was gone.

I've thought about that and thought about that. How it was painful for him at first, but at the end something made him peaceful and then scream out his thanks. I don't think he would be screaming thanks to Jesus if he was in pain.

It was very hard to watch, but to hear him give thanks with his last breath was what really made me realize that Jesus loves us so much.

My dad's last words were calling to Jesus as if he was looking right at Him. It was almost a question- Jesus? - kind of like He couldn't believe his eyes.

It is sometimes very painful for us to watch our loved one die but after as we reflect we think .... wow , they are with Jesus and our Heavenly Father... running around on the streets of gold, all pain and sorrow gone. We would not wish them back here on earth but know that some wonderful day we also will be united there with them. Hallalujah praise the Lamb !!!!
