...a Telescope!
The last week or so has been very cold here, and the night sky has been very clear.
I was just outside flying my remote control helicopter, in the dark lol, quickly gazing at the sky while flying til I crashed the helecopter one last time because I broke it lol, and I stood there for like 10 minutes just staring up at the sky!
Its so awesome to look at on a dark night!
Im pretty sure I can see some of the planets too!

If only I had a telescope to get a better and closer look at the wonderful creation our Father has made!

Warm Springs - the country. Where I live, I can step out on my front deck and I can see every star in the universe. Sigh, it seems like that sometimes. I like to just lay back on the deck and stare and stare and stare. I have a telescope, but I'm never good at pinpointing objects that I'm trying to look at...I have a hard time finding the full moon, much less a star.

Sometimes you can see satelites zipping by. Sometimes you see some strange things going on up there...little lights zig-zagging around. I like to think sometimes that I see the Starship Enterprise jumping into warp somewhere up there. Hee hee.

It's amazing what He's made, isn't it? Those thoughts when I'm staring up are just like food for my soul. Thinking those things is like snacking on those yummy chocolate covered donuts - when you starts, you can't stop.

It consumes you, it's so immense and beautiful. And I'm looking at just a tiny, tiny, tiny little corner of the wonderful things He's made.

That's the same way over here in Prineville brother. Me and my boys love looking at the stars. In the summer we sit out and watch the annual meteor shower. I want to take them to the pine mt. observatory when they get a bit older. That is a lot of fun.
How can people honestly believe that when they look at all God has created for us that it could come from some big bang.

I've never looked through a telescope. Though I have been to a few planetariums.

STC, you can have mine, I haven't been using it much lately. It's a bit old school, still uses gears, levers, and mechanical relays, but it gets the job done. You know it's working because you can hear all the grinding, whirring, and clicking. Sometimes it arcs a little, but you get used to the smell of ozone after a while. And, instead of that annoying little "bing" of modern brains, there is a solid, satisfying "CLUNK" when it locks onto an idea.

I miss the days when I lived out in the country and could enjoy the periodic light shows. One night it looked as if the entire sky was on fire with silver-blue flames all seeming to converge directly over my head. Another night I watched an undulating ribbon of bright green stretching from horizon to horizon.

Yup , you guys enjoy all those night sights cause when you live in the big city you can't see all that. Oh the joys of the city life ..... he he
