If you haven't heard of "A Course in Miracles" or the proposed "Peace Alliance," then please pay attention. "New Age" queen Oprah Winfrey is promoting both, and it seems that what Oprah wants she gets due to her financial status and her loyal fans. Starting January 1, 2008, she began a daily feature on XM Satellite Radio featuring "A Course in Miracles"-one lesson a day. And also this year, she will have her own television network. Marianne Williamson has picked up and run with the "Miracles" course, which was channeled to a woman back in the 1960s. In 1965 Helen Schucman heard an "inner voice" saying, "This is a course in miracles-please take note." For seven years she took spiritual dictation from a demon who said he was "Jesus." "A Course in Miracles" has now become the "New Age" bible. Here are a few statements from the course: * There is no sin. * The journey to the cross should be the last "useless journey." * Do not make the pathetic error of "clinging to the old rugged cross." http://www.christianworldviewnetwork.com:80/article.php/3038/Jan_Markell

So sad...I liked her years ago, but when she had a psychic on her show, I tuned out...no more for me. Too bad others haven't done the same. They have been lied to daily.

I used to be an Oprah fan... Then I started seeing alittle of this and alittle of that that wasn't Christian portrayed on her show... I do still watch the Doctor segment though... I'm always interested in medical/health issues...

Thanks Tom!
In this age of deception we must watch out closely for one another. We must be vigilant to watch our every step because satan has planted land mines in our path and I thank you brother for helping us all avoid getting fooled. May God bind us all together with His power and love. May He lead us safely home. May He keep His people from harm in Jesus name.... Love, Judy This should come as no surprise in these latter days as the Bible is clear that some will not give heed to sound doctrine but rather listen to the doctrine of demons (II Tim. 4:3,4). |

This is a little odd.
I was just thinking I was going to start a thread about Oprah on my way home. I went to one of the houses I do maintenance on this afternoon when they called and said they don’t have any hot water. I got there and discovered that someone turned down the thermostat on the water heater. I turned it back up and told the staff upstairs what happened and I would stick around to make sure it heats up. She was watching Oprah, so I sat down on the couch and watched some too. Her first guest was a woman who wrote a book called something like, “You can fix your life”. Or something to that effect. She started talking about the power of our thoughts, our affirmations, and our words. If you speak and think good, you will receive good. She even went so far as to liken it to planting a seed. After a little while I looked at the staff and said, “the funny thing is… everything she is talking about is in the Bible”. Does she even know that she is taking things from the Bible and putting her own little twist on it and trying to make it her own? I can just imagine her at the end of her life in front of God and He asks her, “Why did you try to steal My idea”? “Didn’t you think I would notice”? Anyway, the last time I saw Opera was about 5 years ago. (I need to quit watching her so often) She had another author on who wrote the book called “Illuminata”. It is a book full of prayers. I was impressed and I bought the book. I was deceived. I didn’t even notice it right away. I thought the prayers were really good, but after some time, I noticed that throughout the whole book, not one prayer ended with “In Jesus name”. Not one. How can someone write that many prayers and not end them with in Jesus name? Not even one. I think Oprah and her guests are sliding on a slippery slope, and some day they are going to hit the bottom and the ride will be over. Now I think I’ll start on my other thread I thought of starting. It will be in the humor section and I’m sure everyone who has ever had a job will be able to contribute. Take care everyone and God bless you all. Dean
