I've said it before: If we call Christianity a relationship, not a religion, then the term loses all meaning. If you say that Christianity is a relationship, then every other religion out there can say the same thing (Honestly, I can think of no exceptions to this). I'm saying religion.

This is a standing challenge, by the way. How many religions can you name that are not in some way a relationship?

It's an interesting slogan, but there's no substance to it.

I really thought about this one. Relationship, definitely, for me. I don't even want to imagine life without God. It wouldn't be life....just existence. Yuck!
Peace and blessings,
Joyce

I would say that "Christianity" is a religion, but as Christians we should develop a relationship with God. That was why we were created. Adam was not a "Christian" yet he walked with God in the garden and spoke with him. Can you imagine the closeness of that type of relationship? Not many people can say that they have been that close to God. We should all strive to have that type of closeness. Think of Moses. He was not a "Christian" either, but look at the closeness that he and God had. "Christianity" or the act of being a "Christian" is about following Christ and his teachings. Just "being a Christian" is not what gives you a relationship with God. It only opens the doors. Like Mary and Martha..... Jesus was coming to visit them and Martha was in the kitchen cooking, while Mary was at Jesus feet listening. Both were in the presence of God, yet only one was developing that relationship with him.

The realtionship between the world and their religions are demons and demoniac. My realtinonship with God is one of a son and He is my Abba Father. I would have to say I have a relationship with a religious expression. I know of no other religion that can say that.

Well, I can't say because I've only been a Christian... But I have known others from different religions, and I've never heard them say they have a relationship with Buddah, confusious, or Mohammed, I've never heard a LDS say they have a relationship with Christ, I never heard a Jew saying he has a relationship with Yahweh (sp) sorry if I mis-spelled... I'm not saying they don't I'm saying none ever to me said they have...

When some one says to me I am religious..... that is where I draw the line and say " No, I am not religious" . Because I read my Bible and pray does not necessarily make me religious.

But, because I have submitted my all to Jesus Christ and accepted Him into my heart and life , then I have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Other religions cannot say that.

I worship a true and living God, who is there for me 24/7 and can you say that about your religion?
