Go where you are fed, where the people demonstrate a strong desire to get closer to God, and where they have good fruits.

MODERATORS CAUTION

This is an important topic but we will NOT allow it to degenerate into a battle field between denominations.
Anyone posting comments that are demeaning of a church or denomination will have their post removed and may face a ban.

Beloved,
On the wrong track my friend... Christianity is not a denomination, of any kind...

It is a relationship with Christ, and the Father through the indwelling Holy Spirit which is called your Helper and Comfortor...

The denomination does not count unless it is a cult...

Any christian denomination that you mentioned could have a true or a false pastor...that leads the flock into anything and everything as long as its not a relationship with the Lord...

Your relationship with Him will then lead to the church He knows is best for you.

Matthew 25

10 “But while they were gone to buy oil, the bridegroom came. Then those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was locked. 11 Later, when the other five bridesmaids returned, they stood outside, calling, ‘Lord! Lord! Open the door for us!’ 12 “But he called back, ‘Believe me, I don’t know you!’

Luke 13
He replied, 24 “Work hard to enter the narrow door to God’s Kingdom, for many will try to enter but will fail. 25 When the master of the house has locked the door, it will be too late. You will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Lord, open the door for us!’ But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’ 26 Then you will say, ‘But we ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’ 27 And he will reply, ‘I tell you, I don’t know you or where you come from. Get away from me, all you who do evil.’

John 17:3

And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.

Matthew 7
True Disciples
21 “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. 22 On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ 23 But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’

While I agree with you 100% Beloved Christianity is expressed in many different ways or flavors and that is usually apparent in the different churches you will see.
MM2 make sure whatever church you go to teaches and adheres to the Bible as the Word of God. You will most likely try a few to find where you fit in but before deciding prayer and ask the Holy Spirit of God to lead you to the place He would have you go. Many blessings in Jesus Name, Larry.

I couldn't agree more.

Christianity isn't a religion, it's a relationship!

momof2,

I think that it might benefit you to read Rev. 2 and 3 before you decide on which church to join. Therein, Christ judges the 7 types of churches and finds fault with 5 out of the 7 types.

Then, if you focus on the two churches that Christ finds no fault with, Smyrna and Philadelphia, you will notice that they have one thing in common. Based upon that commonality, it seems prudent to join a church with that understanding as well.

Of course, when I have interviewed churches in effort to find one to attend, I cannot find one that shares in the commonality addressed for those two favorable churches. I live in the Los Angeles area and cannot find a Christ-judged favorable church to attend. So, you may have a difficult time as well.

Good luck!

I go to a non-denominational church. As long as the church you go to preaches the inerrant Word of God, consider it a blessing
