A discussion I had with Smellycat made me remember this article from 2003. The paper is about research being done on cellular memory. Stories of people taking on the attributes of their organ donor.

As intelligent as the scientific community is, they really miss a wealth of information simply because it's in the Bible, and they refuse to believe it. If the researchers had read the Bible, they would not have been surprised at the results of this study, it would have only confirmed what God has been saying for centuries.

It seems the heart can think & feel...as the Bible indicates. Go figure! The Bible is correct again!

It's in our heart that we believe...

Romans 10:10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

or not...

Hebrews 3:12 Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God;

Gods word is written on our hearts...

Corinthians 3:2 You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men;

Hebrews 10:16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,”

Our hearts can have thoughts & intend to do things...

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

It contains what is hidden from the public...

Peter 3:4 rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.

Until we open our mouths...

Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

It is the organ we love & hate with

Mark 12:30 And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.

Leviticus 19:17 ‘You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him.

It can imagine....

Luke 1:51 He has shown strength with His arm; He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.

It can ponder/think/remember/reason...

Luke 2:19 But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart.

Luke 3:15 Now as the people were in expectation, and all reasoned in their hearts about John, whether he was the Christ or not,

God NEVER lies or misleads people. He has been telling us all along that our hearts are capable of more than pumping blood. We were just too arrogant to listen.

It does make you wonder...we live in a frankenstein generation.

a nose not even similar to family noses
I can see with eyes not my own
using someone elses kidneys
even hands & faces transplanted

Another thought...

big can of worms, but the thought is going through more heads than mine...

If I die, donate my organs, and an athiest gets my heart...will he begin to believe?

i think it could be used to prolong suffering to others.the butcher rules the hospitals.

I have always understood 'the heart' when used in scripture to mean 'the deepest place' or our spirit, the part of us that loves & feels (or not)
I dont believe it means the physical heart, rather, the most secret place.
