Post Who will I meet in College ?

As a Christian in College , you will encounter at least [Three Kinds of People]

"And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ."

1 Corinthians 3:1

In this section of his letter to the Corinthians, Paul calls attention to three kinds of people. First he identifies the unregenerate person: "But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised."

3:10 - Second, the spiritual Christian: "The spiritual man judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one."

3:11 - Finally, the carnal Christian who acts like "a babe in Christ." In this section of his letter, Paul contrasts the wisdom of the world with the wisdom of God. The carnal person is one who, although a Christian, reasons with the wisdom of the world and thus behaves in a manner similar to the unregenerate.

Worldly wisdom is that which the world uses to come to its conclusions. Paul does not argue that worldly wisdom is bad and therefore to be avoided, but rather that it cannot assist in either salvation or sanctification. It may be helpful in the affairs of this life, but it cannot help you find or please God.

When you seek to apply worldly wisdom to the affairs of God, you manifest carnality. For example if you seek to get even with someone for the way your were treated, you are carnal. We all have done this one before ! Thank God for his Grace .

Paul says the carnal person acts like a babe in Christ, but carnality is not an issue of how long you have been a Christian. You can be young in Christ and spiritual, and you can have known Christ for 50 years and be carnal. Any mind set, action or reaction not in accordance with the character of Christ is carnality.

You'll meet more than three kinds of people.

you'll meet individuals, all different, none the same.

True but not from a religious standpoint.

There are two major types of people saved and unsaved- you will meet people form both of these groups werever you go (even on a christian campus) each person in either of those catagories will be unique and express different levels of maturity - as Mike 72 has pointed out the scriptures classify christians in those three spiritual catagories but that doesn't mean they don't have individual personalities.

I am in college...and I will say you meet a wide array of people...all very very different! They are all even very different from a religious perspective! While there are some who try strengthening their faith and relationship with God, there are others - others who call themselves Christian - who disregard Christianity and God and opt to engage in wild and often dangerous activities. Or maybe not even dangerous, but definitely not activities that put you on a path closer to God.
And then there are some, who aren't Christian, but are still good people, with whom friendships can be forged...I know, I know, some of you might be thinking that it's hard to have close relationships with non-Christians because they do not believe...but I have found close friends in those who are not Christian because I trust that God would allow such relationships as long as I remember Him always.

I believe there are three types of people, those saved, those who claim to be saved, and those who are unsaved. I'm in college right now and see these 3 categories.
Christianity isn't a religion, it's a lifestyle
