If you were wrongly accused - by a professor - of academic dishonesty, how would you handle the situation?
I would really like advice on this one because it's a situation I've found myself in today. In Christ, CLY

well first you would pray to God very quickly.
Wikipedia: "Academic dishonesty is a form of cheating that occurs within an educational setting. It includes plagiarism and data falisfication. Plagiarism is claiming another's work as one's own. Data falsification includes making false claims about research performed, including selective reporting of results to exclude inconvenient data to generating bogus data." Okay first you ask your teacher why you he accuses you of cheatng. Then you try and bring proof its your own work. For example, "but my mum saw me writing it. Ask her if you do not believe me". I have no idea how old you are but if you live with your parents then you can see if they back you up. After you find proof, you show it to the teacher and honestly look him in the eye and tell him you did not cheat. Ramble on a tiny bit about: cheating is dishonest and very erm what is the word? Awful! After that say you would never cheat as you are a strict Christian. If your teacher continues to disbelieve you then there are more proofs. For example if you did on the computer you can use the data on the system to show proof you editing it. Make sure you tell no lies or the teacher is a lot less likely to believe you. If it degrades to the most possible bad form and noone believes you then offer to swear an oath with the Bible that you never cheated. If you have to do it make sure you say something like: "why would i go to all this trouble? If i was lying more then God would punish me. I am being honest". May God help you through your troubles. |

Cly, i think you should go meet the professor in person and explain to him your situation. Never be rude. I think, he/she might be able to understand, after all they've gone through the same life as yours. :smt023
Don't forget to tell God about that. He knows it but He wants you to tell Him.

Thankfully, possibly, something will be worked out soon. Thank you for your advice, guys. I appreciate it, and will keep it in mind.
God bless!

My teacher went back an looked over the homework again and regraded everything. I got a perfect score on all of them except one, and that was because I had made a mistake and deserved it. Praise God! :-D
