Hi there, I found the IR and have read through alot of the posts.
What an awesome sharing going on.
My path with the Lord has been awesome lately. I am now in the Word more than ever, reading other books and doing devotions on a regular basis.

I have a question and if it is inappropriate, please delelte it.
But can you share with me where in the Bible it talks about Masturbation and how the Word speaks to it for both a man and a women?

I agree with you. Children learn by asking piles of questions. It's 'why this' and 'why that' and 'why the other'! I drove my parents crazy as a child. *grins!* No different for adults. As Christians if we don't seek to LEARN then we are never gonna GROW. GOD WANTS US TO GROW: TO BECOME MATURE (grown up!) CHRISTIANS!!! But how can we LEARN if we don't seek answers? It's sad the number who never seriously seek God and His truths.

Okay, this is just information for you, okay? There are those who will find speaking about things like m. to be uncomfortable, even VERY uncomfortable, and so would probably feel that asking via a PM would be more appropriate. Similarly, they would feel that for me to answer here would also be inappropriate. Now the New Testament says very clearly that by OUR FREEDOM to do this or that or the other we must NOT OFFEND a brother or sister! So because of this I'll PM my response to you in the next hour or so. Anyone else who'd like to read the response, please ask and I'll PM a copy.

SPIRITUAL INDIGESTION...

THE SUNDAY SERMON

Once a week, right. I can't comment on how good the content may or may not be, but can you remember anything from the last one you heard? MORE to the point were you able to start to put it into practice in your life? To start actually DOING it? Okay, I doubt we have too much 'Spiritual Indigestion' here.


BONDMAN MESSAGES

But a message almost daily from Bondman... Whoa, that's a different matter. Because first, I pack a fair lot into each one. Second, it's all practical - stuff to get your teeth into. Third, it's always serious and often challenging. Sometimes it may even be confronting.

So is it possible to get Spiritual Indegestion here in The Inner Room? Yes it is! How come? - because you're reading a lot at once, too much to be able to put into practice! Certainly in so short a time. So what should we do? I should write less maybe? No I don't think that's the best answer.


TRY THIS

Here's a great way to go! This is most IMPORTANT!! If you ARE truly seeking the Truth in Jesus - which I earnestly hope you are! - then usually you can tell if God "highlights" something to you. It kind of gets your attention! You find that you're having a bit of a lightbulb moment! Once again if you're serious about Jesus, then this is almost certainly the HOLY SPIRIT who is shining His LIGHT onto a TRUTH: a truth that's just right for YOU!!!

The Spirit is our TRUTH-REVEALER! So wow, best take notice when this happens!!! So:

.. Spend more time on the truth.
.. Read it again.
.. Talk to God about it.
.. And most of all ENSURE that you start towards putting this into your life! Absolutely critical!!

SUMMARY!

1. Take note of those things the Holy Spirit lights up - these are special for YOU!

2. Start acting upon it or them ASAP.

3. Don't try to DO a million new things at once - you'll just get Spiritual Indigestion! (and maybe depressed as well). NOTE: it IS alright to take in and LEARN all the truths you read - that's a quite different matter.

4. Start ACTING upon it or them ASAP! *oh, did I say that?!!*

Gosh that is exactly how I feel! I have in the last couple of months finally seen alot of light! and Spiritual Indigestion has hit me..

I have been reading and reading, both in the Word and other books.
I really want to get those two books I saw you mention earlier.

The lightbulb that has most recently gone off for me was Sexual Purity.
The Lord was really speaking to me in regards to that. So I started there.


I have alot happening in my life right now and am really praying to see if these things are from God or just me wanting to be on my path of life again.. But I truly believe some of them are from God.. It has been so great to find the Forum.. there has been so many folks that have helped me recently and I appreciate that!

You are so hungry for the Word, and anything about God and Jesus, that you read and read, listen and listen, and everything gets jumbled together, but you cant help yourself but to keep piling it all in! *pant,pant* God is so good! And there is so much to learn about Him and we are SO impatient to learn it all right now!!!!

And I understand and can relate to EVERY WORD you said!!! Wow, certainly been there, done that! You can't help yourself, right? You want more and more...

But regarding "... and we are SO impatient to learn it all right now!!!!" - in the 9 aspects of the Fruit of the Holy Spirit, #4 may be translated 'longsuffering' in your Bible; or your translation may use a word that starts with the letter 'p'**. Mostly we don't like this 'p' word, but I've proven that it's definitely a goody to specifically ASK God to make stronger and stronger in your life!!

Cos trying to DO it all at once doesn't help. Learning it all is fine. However what we get into our life has to be what THE LORD wants for us right now. When we go ahead of Him, wouldn't we be doing that in the FLESH? Whereas when we seek ONLY what the Holy Spirit is REVEALING and HIGHLIGHTING to us right now, what we DO then can be in the SPIRIT. Agree?

Wow, you got a lightbulb! I love them, I really do. And GOD surely loves sexual purity. He is not impressed one bit with sexual impurity. The NT speaks a lot on this subject. A major matter, and we simply MUST take note of what He wants for us, and make sure we DO it!

Praying for you, Faithwoman, for you to get the right balance and right focus from the Lord, and follow it. "Jesus, please be our Revelator by Your Spirit. Show us what YOU are working on! Help us, because we so easily stray off the path. Keep us looking the RIGHT way. May we not try too hard either, but rather simply cooperate with You to our utmost, so that we truly let YOU do the work in us. No work of the flesh for us please Lord! May it be of Your Spirit!!"
