Granny G... what a blessing and an example of the love of Christ in action! Giving blood, IMO, is very Christlike... after all, He gave His blood for us all, didn't He?
Donating blood is such a wonderful way to 'anonymously' bless someone - especially in a time of great need. And there is never a time when the blood banks are 'too full' - as a matter of fact, they are usually very low. My step-mother required several units of blood - several times over the past couple of months. Someone was Christlike (self-less and giving) and had donated their own blood and she benefited from it. Unfortunately, I cannot be a donor... but if I could, I surely would. It only takes a small amount of time, there is very little 'pain' involved, and a healthy person recovers quite quickly from it. Thank you, Granny for reminding us all to be givers - and that doesn't always have to mean M-O-N-E-Y! May God repay to you what those who receive the blood you donate cannot in Jesus' name!

Oh my, you are all making me want to cry. I would have been giving all through the years, but had that bad experience about 10 years ago. I am today again experiencing some headachyness and when I stir around or walk from one building to the next, my angina (from MVP) kicks in. So I think if I give in the future, I'll have to take a day to sleep it off.
 Anyway, I do know how valuable it is and I did so want to set an example in the school for the kids. Just continue to pray for my blood to get built back up. Also, tomorrow we move my mother (92 yo) from rehab/nursing facility to her assisted living home. Another busy day.

GrannyG, I totally agree with Fluffy, you've done your last blood donation!
Because Mark has now stepped up to take you place!! Isn't that great! And what BeenBlessed said about giving is all so true and good! Also I fully endorse every word you said about our beautiful Fluffy - who's such a blessing to me and us all, that's for sure!!! I do so love all of you guys!
