I am going to go to my oldest daughter's house for 2 weeks to visit and help her out. She has internet, but just how often I"ll be able to get on is another story. So post away!

Yep, we have to be careful about what we read, listen to, look at. That's why my chair at the dining table faces away from the tv. There's stuff on public, national tv that I have no business looking at.

I cant control what my husband watches, but I CAN control what I do! ha! We have to be careful, especially in areas we have been delivered from. Dont need to put ourselves in that kind of situation on purpose!
The post I had written about the temptation I faced had to do with what you are dealing with, Robin, in the matter of sexual purity. It came out of nowhere, and I will have to face it again on a regular basis, but with the help of God, I will be able to resist! ha!

Robin ~ You too are fighting a 'good fight of faith' when you are inundated with thoughts like that and you get to choose which thoughts to entertain/allow and which thoughts to CAST DOWN! So when you cast down those 'wrong' thoughts... take heart! You're fighting the good fight of FAITH!! Blessings to you Faithwoman!

Thanks so much to all! Beenblessed- I checked out your site and enjoyed reading the testimonies.. It was awesome to read those.. one day when life slows down a bit, I will have to get mine out of my head and onto paper.

How simple is that! Soon as the thought comes, DELETE IT. Don't allow it to go further. If it's wrong, then simply REFUSE TO ENTERTAIN IT!

You resist ==> God makes the evil one flee!!!

You give in and think further on the matter, and you've given satan a foothold THAT HE HAS NO RIGHT TO HAVE. I say: God's power is there, LET'S USE IT! Then let the Halleluhahs roll right up to the portals of heaven itself!!!

Yes I want to have many Halleluhas rolling up.. thanks for a great scripture to memorize in those moments of time..

Well I had a great day so far with my daughter..
As I was on the computer now, her cell phone rang.. I can tell you one thing, we will be having a chat about her "song" that was playing when it rang.. it was a ringtone that I AM NOT HAPPY ABOUT..

It is a challenge raising kids in a world today.. especially when I am a mom at a distance and only get to actually be with her one week-end a month..

I will drive to Pa to see her next week-end as she is going to the prom.. it was dissapointing that I did not get to go shopping with her for her dress. her dad took her.. but I do have time with her this week-end..
We are going to church tomorrow AM then I will be on the road for 3 hours then back here to my "old" apartment to finish up the one college paper.

Thank you for your kind words! I'm so glad that you took the time to read the testimony page... what a way to get encouraged, huh? When we read present day account of the Lord's presence in the life of a fellow brother or sister it is indeed encouraging - at least I think so!

If (WHEN) you do put yours to paper, feel free to share it with me... if you like, I would be happy to include it with the others! (No pressure though, ok?)

Also, just a word of encouragement... while it is hard to raise children today, you have help through your faith and the Holy Spirit (who is our Helper)! Those two elements being employed have the greatest impact in life - yours as well as your daughter's because she will see it in you. Live your faith in front of her... it is so much more effective than 'preaching' it to her (I'm not saying you're doing that!) just encouraging you to let her witness your faith in action... let her see you read/study your bible, let her see/hear you pray, let her see/hear you worship the Lord OUTSIDE of church services. Those are the examples that will have lasting impacts on our children, grandchildren, spouses, etc. And I have come to believe that its this type of example that is so seriously lacking in the American church 'culture'... praise the Lord that she has a mom who loves the Lord!

And remember, when the devil tries to remind you of your past... simply remind him of his future!

I just adore to see your continued efforts to be the woman that HE wants you to be. You are a great example of how a Christian younger in the faith works at getting the Lord into her life in a way that's gonna really WORK!! Way to go, gal!!

I'm totally with you about TV, Fluf. When my friend said years ago that we must stand guard at the portals of our mind, he sure said a mouthful. Just GOTTA do this with TV. If it's not decent it gets turned off. I will NOT allow garbage into my mind from Hollywood or wherever.

As for temptations, over the years what it ended up coming down to for me was this:

Was what I wanted stronger in me than what He wanted? Or was what He wanted - His will for me - stronger than what I wanted?

Earlier in my life I use to lose when I couldn't say no - cos I wasn't committed enough, didn't love Him enough. I totally hated this of course...

However today I have victory nearly all the time. So all the hardships and hard times and learning to stand firm against temptation when it came to me, all HAVE made me stronger! - just like Faithwoman so pertinently wrote!

I've proven what GOD can do in a life wholly given to up to Him. Okay, it's not all that easy to get to THERE, and is not intended to be - but man alive is this whole Christian journey worth it!! That God of ours, is He fabulous or is He fabulous!!!

I don't have the copyright on that one either... but it sure is an easything to remember when that devil is trying to throw our past into our face!
