James! Welcome to the Coffee House! Just a place to put your feet up and take it easy for awhile! Do you like coffee, tea or what? We have a variety here, anything you like!

Hey, Forgiven! Thanks for the info on the link. When I get the chance, I will look it up.

Hey, Robin! I liked that poem! You have quite a talent!

I wont be here tomorrow. We are going out of town to a fire convention. Those are a lot of fun! We go to a meeting in the morning, learn about things happening in the state and federal governments in relation to fire service, network with other depts. Then we go to lunch, then we have what we call pumper races. Those are fun! We have teams of 2, 3, 6 and 7, and race to see who can connect hoses to the fire truck and hydrants and try to outrun the water. There is about 4-5 races. And the Ladies Auxillary has teams, also. They are alot of fun to watch! And run! hee! Then there is a bar-b-cue afterwards and the award ceremony for the trophys. We've brought home a few ourselves! ha! But its just fun to play. The town we are going to is a couple of hours away, and I dont think we will stay for the dance afterwards (we never do)
Ya'll hold down the fort while I'm gone, will ya?

Default How God Works

Ok another working story..

The gentleman that I date drove down to my house on Saturday. We were to load the vehichles.. go to church on Sunday and drive to my new place to unload on Sunday evening..

Well for whatever reason as we were sitting around Sat afternoon, he said do you mind if we drive up and unload today, go to my house, go to church up there on Sunday.. this way you can relax on Sunday afternoon before starting new job on Monday. I told him I did not mind at all.
So we packed up.. ( I was not completely ready but scurried around). We got unloaded at new place and came to his home.

After church today, we went to lunch with his parents. We both look back now and do not even remember how the conversation came up (well yes it was God) anyway.. his dad was telling about this car he saw at the car wash yesterday that was for sale. .. and what a great deal it was. My boyfriend said did you get the name and number? His dad handed him the piece of paper. After we got home, he called the guy.. we made arrangements to go look at it. He test drove it.. liked it.. We got back to the parking lot.. (his dad did not even know he was looking for a car!)

They started talking about the price.. it was the guy's daughter's car..
They were asking $ 9,880.00. My friend came to me and said what do you think? I told him it was his car. well really the Lord's car.. I said I would at least offer the book price that was listed on the car.. which was like $ 9,585.00.. He said I was going to offer. $ 9,700.00.. I looked at him and said do this deal as Jesus would.. This car was a 2003 Jetta with 52,000 miles on it and in great shape.. I said it is a young college girl selling it, she has taken care of the car and God wants us to deal as he would.
I said take in mind that it needs 2 new tires.. just see if you can do that with them. He offered $ 9,700, the guy said $ 9,750 and it is a deal.
They shook hands.. and he gave a deposit and we came home.

We sat on the deck and prayed and gave thanks to the Lord... You see, my friend has to turn his Denali in this Thursday, the lease is up. He needs to work on his financial situation. We have been praying that the Lord meets his need, not his wants.. for a vehichle for a few weeks now..
He had gotten approved for a loan for $ 10,000! and he was able to stay within that budget.. and he even said on the deck today, this is the type of car he envisioned.. so awesome! awesome! awesome! .. You see we were not even suppose to be here today.. but the Lord led the whole chain of events.. now how awesome is that!

Moral of this story.. just keep on believing, be obedient and God will direct your paths!

Hugs
Robin

Oh.. and one big plus for my friend.. I can't drive the car!
It is a 5 speed stick shift! .. however.. being the nice person he is.. he said that won't last long.. that he will teach me..

BEENBLESSED!!!!!!!!!

It is so good to hear from you again! I was too busy corralling my 16 month old grandson to pay much attention to what was going on.
But one of the things I DID catch was a chaplain from the State convention made the comment that during the memorial service for the firefighters that have died in the past year, a young boy was clapping. He said that it was wonderful to see not only firefighters at the convention, but families as well. That we thought of bringing our families into our world and showing them a little bit of what we're about. As for the boy clapping, dont stop him. Those firefighters deserved an ovation for their service for their community. And he told the mothers to not be embarrassed about their young children crying or making noises. It was the sound of life. The next generation to come up and be firefighters, or others to serve their communities. He said that our future is in the children.
He was so right!
Children are our gift sent to us from our Father. They are so precious!
Made me feel better about my grandson's little temper tantrum he had because he couldnt get a little girl's ball! (he loves balls!)
