Change of subject: Just want to share that DH has been saving tapes for years!!!! Recently he took some of them and had them converted to CD format. We are currently listening to radio music and message from "The Old Fashioned Revival Hour" with Charles Fuller. This was recorded in the 40's. Lovely, beautiful. Rudy Atwood on the piano. Fantastic gospel piano and gospel music.

Charles Fuller. That name sounds familiar. Where have I heard that from?
I love piano music! I used to play, but have forgotten all I learned. Tsk. So sad. Do you play?

No. My girls (3) all took about 12 years and into college each one of them. Beautiful musicians. Don't use it much these days, though. Charles Fuller was on the air during WWII and after. He also started Fuller Evangelical Seminary in California. Don't what they name it now. At one time it was very sound, spiritually.

My girls could play beautiful classical and hymns music. I truly miss it.

Fluffy:

As far as what I drink it depends upon the time of day... early morning Coffee, afternoon tea and after 5 it is decaff tea ... and of course water water water.

A Stephen Minister is "Jesus with Skin." We come up alongside a person going through a crisis .. like divorce, death, widowed, death of a child, family of a person with a mental illness (don't like that word),loss of job, family member in prison, working through the after effects of sexual abuse, family member's suicide, etc. We are there to listen, ask open ended questions, and pray for them. Most people in times of crisis experience a disconnect from our Heavenly Father and an SM points the way so the person figures things out themselves ... sometimes we get to lead them to Jesus.

SM ... Mission Statment: A Stephen Minister is a vessel of the Holy Spirit who offers/provides acceptance and encouragement through prayer and relational support.

A SM usually averages 2 relationships a year minimum. It is a long term commitment .. 6 months and sometimes less 4 months. It just depends. A SM meets with a Care Receiver once a week ... either in person at a safe place ... or on the telephone.

Happy Good Friday everyone.

Jesus Love,
Silversheep

Hey, Silversheep! That ministry sounds wonderful! It is something that is sorely needed. And I like that it is a one on one, long term commitment. That is what people really need, and not just an hour here and there for a few weeks and then, bam! Your on your own!

Hey, Granny! Didnt he start the Crystal Cathedral? There in California? If I'm not mistaken, I think he started out in a drive in theater! If its the same person I'm remembering.

I am a bit worn out. Friday, we had a really big fire. It was down in a valley that some one had been using as a dump ground. There were piles of tires, cars, furniture, wires, all kinds of stuff. And there were about 20 55 gallon drums with no one knows what was inside them. Several of them blew up during the fire. Made some pretty awesome fire balls! And being in a steep valley, it was too dangerous to go in, so we waited for the fire to come to the top and kept it from jumping the road. The Forest Service guys came out with thier bulldozers and they dropped fire retardant with helicopters and a really big plane. That was awesome! I had always seen those planes on tv, but never in person! Then we stayed out there all night, and all the next day putting out hot spots.
So today, I am planning on just relaxing and enjoying the rain. YES! We are having rain again! Need more of it! yeah!

Hope everyone had an awesome Resurrection Day! He is RISEN! He is RISEN, INDEED!!!

Yes, JESUS IS RISEN! Whoo-hooooo! Our totally amazing Saviour and Lord and Master - and our FRIEND! That's gotta be a Hallelujah!!!

Crystal Cathedral is Robert Schuller - TV evangelist (and now his son also) teaching positive thinking, etc. Sincere man, and this may be helpful to some. But it is NOT at all the NT Gospel!

Wow, your fires are getting bigger and worse. Lord, protect our dear Fluffy and her hubby, and all the guys fighting these dreadful fires!

Thank you, Bondman, for the correction! I associated the "uller" part of the name with the cathedral.
And thank you, for the prayer! We sure are having a lot of fires. My hubby warned us back in November that it was going to be bad this year, and he was right! We had a really good rain the last couple of days, so hopefully, it will slow down some. We are still having the usual structure fires and stuff, but with the added grass fires, its been rather stressful! Last night, we had a call for smoke in a house, got there, and it was a space heater that a dog had peed on, causing it to smoke! ha!

The mayor's wife is working really hard to arrange for my hubby to get the medal of valor. I think they are going to give it to him at the awards banquet we are having tomorrow night. We tried to get medals in in time for the firefighters that went into the refinery, but they didnt get in until the next day. So the county commissioners is giving our fire dept a steak dinner (this is unheard of in this county!!) and the commissioners are going to place the medals around the necks of the firefighters, themselves! I think the mayor is trying to set it up to give my hubby one, too! He didnt get one, because he gave the medals to the firefighters and he said he wasnt going to give one to himself! I hope all this makes sense. I'm really excited about this!
Gotta go!
Ya'll have a blessed day!
