Good morning, ya'll! Been out all night, fighting a fire in another county. Little bit sleepy, yep. Just a little bit. Hopefully, we'll get this put out soon. Sun's coming up! yeah!

Hey, ya'll! God continues to work in wonderous ways! A very large church in our town is giving a dinner for all the refinery workers and first responders that helped in the fire. There are going to be some speakers, and my husband (the chief of the volunteer firfighters) is going to be one of them, publicly giving glory to God!

I'm tired. I'm worn out. I need a hug. I need a break. Praying for a little bit of rain, and a few days of quiet. When is it going to stop??

Too many fires, too much going on, no time out - no wonder you're feeling like you're at the end of your tether, hon!

Things usually do stop eventually - but sometimes not before they've tried you to the nth degree! That's why I've written about ENDURING in my messages on The Inner Room. This is a Scriptural concept that God wants us to both learn and live out! We can endure - but ONLY with His help and support and assistance! The harder it is, the more He's calling to us to come for His power, His love, His grace - to get us through. To help us to really be able to ENDURE!

Jesus made this rather astonising statement, recorded in both Matthew and Mark:

Matthew 24:13
But he who endures to the END shall be saved.

Whoa, that's strong! It was spoken in the context of the end times, but I'm confident that it applies to us all at all times. Concerning the above verse, the great Matthew Henry, in his Commentary on the Whole Bible said this:

"they endure to the end, to the end of their lives, to the end of their present state of probation [of being tested and proven], or to the end of these suffering trying times, to the last encounter, though they should be called to resist unto blood."

WOW!!!! But ONLY by His Power in us. We all simply gotta learn to get connected to Him in this way!

Our love and blessings, dear Fluffy!

- BM and his Beloved

Default Probation?

"they endure to the end, to the end of their lives, to the end of their present state of probation, or to the end of these suffering trying times, to the last encounter, though they should be called to resist unto blood."

Bondman, you said this was from the commentary on Matt. 24:13

I know that word "probation." It is a Mormon word for where someone like me, an apostate, goes after he dies until a Mormon missionary comes and teaches him.

Of course I don't believe that anymore, but what does it really mean in the commentary? And, is the word, probation, used in the Bible at all, really? I hate it when phrases like this come up. But, they don't sway me like they used to. I know I am not an apostate. I'm an apostle, right?
