Suffering
I believe that suffering can lead us in paths of righteousness but the godly sorrow that leads to repentance can certainly lead to a new life with Christ and renewed commitment to serve Him. As a song says: "For every cross there is a crown"

Matthew 5:10-12
10Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner...

This has become one of those "life verses" for me. I have fought and will continue to fight the "thoughts and ways of the world" to think of myself as anything else otherwise it could lead to the sins of pride and self-sufficiency; two lies of the enemy; just illusions and deceptions from

Taking it a step farther:

Luke 10:17

So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.
  1. Are we doing what is our duty to do?
  2. Have we kept His commandments? (there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus; what you are feeling is CONVICTION of the Holy Spirit to strive for holiness and righteousness in Him.)
  3. Are we reaching seeking the
