Serving God: Just do it...

I play the tambourine and would like to share a few spiritual insights and correlations with the use of the tambourine in Praise. I call it "Holy spirit power" for I certainly don't believe that I could play it without the Holy Spirit's work in me.
My story; I never thought that I would ever have the rhythm to play the tambourine but that didn't stop God...
well, I shouted Praise God!
and RAN to the table and grabbed the tambourine; needless to say; I hardly let the tambourine out of my sight the remainder of that evening and the next day before leaving. Before parting for home on the next day; there was Messianic praise music playing and the women joined in dance and as Miriam, I played the tambourine in jubilation and praise to our Faithful God and King.
* A note: the Lord gave me a harp (Celtic lever; 28 strings; wavy maple) and it is becoming my main instrument of leading worship...the Lord has since worked in my heart (and head and will) to "do it" and stop procrastinating and making excuses as to why I am "not ready" to use it in ministry; I did not let that slow me down with the tambourine and by God's grace, He will enable me as He desires for His Glory...I took it BY FAITH to my house of worship a few weekends ago an I ended up "leading worship" after service for those who wanted to hear the harp and my testimonies of God's faithfulness. He certainly enabled me by His Spirit; I was amazed!!! I was having trouble focusing on chords; playing and singing at the same time and I found that I could do all that PLUS help others out with a harmony part, (flute), etc...HALLELUJAH!!!

1-Our thoughts of our abilities/inabilities won't stop God's plan
and our part in it if we will lay down our expectations of ourselves.
and our part in it if we will lay down our expectations of ourselves.
I had been praying that God would gift me with an "accompaniment instrument" *as I was already a singer and was beginning to lead worship after many years of choirs, various small group and solo music. I was at a ladies retreat in our area; a small group of faithful and loving women got together and provided musical instruments for times of "praise and worship".
2-Don't feel guilty for asking for more to serve Him with;
He desires to give you "everything pertaining to life and godliness"
I "tried" several and prayed over all of the instruments that I touched but none seemed to "click" for me until in the midst of worship while lifting my hands in praise, a woman waited to catch my eye and then said "The Lord told me that He is going to anoint you to play the tambourine".He desires to give you "everything pertaining to life and godliness"

I went home from the retreat and bought my tambourine( I was not currently in a church music ministry) ...my instrument of praise to God !!!Shortly afterward, the Lord lead me to a Messianic congregation where I was immediately placed into worship team. Looking back upon "my choice" of the tambourine as it is a "leader" of instruments that keep rhythm, I certainly would NOT have chosen this as I did not want to lead.
4-God uses what we lay on the altar to Him; a living sacrifice;
like the widow's mite; what is given in faith will be multiplied for His Glory.
like the widow's mite; what is given in faith will be multiplied for His Glory.
The Lord also had confirmed my vocation and service to him as a worship leader; I did not want to be "up front" but we must allow God to do ALL in us that He desires; it is not usually our first choice.
5-God's ways are higher than our ways;
His thoughts are higher than our thoughts...
He may lead you in areas that you would not have even thought to go.

I had to learn how to play AND learn how to die to my self all at the same time; talk about being humbled.
6- God uses the "foolish things of this world" to confound the "wise"...
the tambourine at the HEAD of the battle certainly looks foolish but it
is rejoicing in the VICTORY that will be shortly realized.

He still uses the "foolish things" today, take me for example
.I had to get over the idea of "looking foolish" and allow God to use me, my tambourine along with our praises to proclaim the name of Yeshua (Jesus) drive out unclean and even any spirits that would exalt themselves above God...

Thank you for letting me share with you how the Lord CAN work in our lives if we are willing and ready to serve Him with a heart of worship.
