Ten "Bible Facts" About the First-Day of the Week
============

Does the Bible record a change of the Sabbath from the
seventh-day of the week to the first-day of the week?

Did the apostles keep Sunday holy-as a day of rest?

Are Christians commanded to keep Sunday holy -
this side of the resurrection?

*Actually, the Bible has very little to say about the
first day of the week.

1)The first thing recorded in the Bible about the first-day
is that it is a day on which work was done-
Yahweh,our Creators' work of creation began on the
first day of the week.{Genesis 1:1-5}
Nothing sets the first day apart from the other working days
of creation week.

2)Yahweh commands His people to work on the first day of
the week as part of the six ordinary working days.
{Exodus 20:8-11}

3)Yahweh specifically refers to the six working days of
the week-which includes the first day-as distant from His
Holy Sabbath Day.{Ezekiel 46:1}

4)There is No record Anywhere in the Bible that Yahweh
ever Blessed the first day of the week nor made it Holy.

5)There is No record Anywhere in the Bible that Any of the
patriarchs,prophets,apostles, nor Any of Yahwehs' or Yahshuas'
people ever considered the "first-day"of the week as Yahwehs'
Sabbath, nor to keep it Holy.

6)There is No command from Yahweh, Anywhere in the Bible
to keep Holy, the first day of the week.

7)The Bible is completely silent about any change of Yahwehs'
Holy Sabbath from the seventh-day of the week, to the first.

8)The Bible say's that the woman came to Yahshuas',our Savior's,
tomb early on the first day of the week-after "The" Sabbath had
passed.{Matthew 28:1; Mark 16:1,2}

9)The Bible records one instance in which Christians gathered to
"break bread"[eat], and to hear Paul preach, on the first day of
the week.{Acts 20:7} It also records that the early Christian
believers came together every day to break bread together
and Praise Yahweh.{Acts 2:46,47}
Nothing about the meeting in Acts 20 indicates that Any of
these Christians considered the first-day of the week to be
Holy,or that Yahweh had changed the Sabbath from the
seventh-day of the week to the first day of the week.

10)Paul counseled the Corinthian belivers to set aside some
money on the first day of each week and save it up{1Cor.16:2},
so that he would not have to take up a collection when he arrived.
Some have argued that this text proves that the Corinthian Christians
were worshiping on the first day of the week and taking up an offering
at their meetings.
But the text is clearly talking about setting aside money each week that
Paul will collect when he comes; it says nothing about a worship service
on the first-day of the week.
