love with Christ

Are we truly in love with Christ, or do we just love Him? Do we love to celebrate His mercy, pardon, grace, and love; yet cower in silence at His justice and demands of perfection? Do we love merely to love the goodness of God; or do we like the new bride seek to please Him and truly follow? The Bible says clearly that those who obey God are those that truly love Him. The measure of a man's love is not just within his wallet, or that which he speaks to believe, but that which he is, and that which he does. Does what you do speak of love for the Savior? Or are they vestiges of a dead faith?
No man can earn his way into God's favor with deeds and with offerings of sacrifices. A man can only gain acceptance into God's favor by a living breathing faith which expresses itself through obedience.

Brother, my name is Thomas. I am from Boston, MA. I am trying to find what you wrote about... I am seeking a more intimate relationship with God/Jesus for the sake of my happiness and salvation. I have lived in the World for way too long and I am not trying to live in the Spirit. It is going to take a great amount of time to learn how to do so, but as you mentioned, I am willing to gain acceptance into God's favor by living breathing faith which expressed itself through obedience. |
