I would like to share some stories with you.

The sufferings of martyr
Tatiana
Tatiana was born in the ancient Rome in the family of noble parents. Her father was elected as a consul for 3 times but he was a secret Christian. He brought up his daughter Tatiana in God’s fear and godliness and taught her the Holy Scriptures. When Tatiana came of age, she decided to stay a virgin and to be a bride of Christ, loving Him and serving Him day and night. Because of her righteous life she was chosen a deaconess at the church.In 222 young Alexander Sever became a Roman emperor. He himself didn’t oppress Christians, but his rulers (deputies) and consuls did. They sent all over the Empire king’s order to force Christians to worship Roman gods. In the case of refusal they would be tortured and put to death. From that time Christians’ blood flowed like water in all the areas of Roman Empire.Tatiana
In those days Tatiana was caught by pagans and brought into the temple of Apollo. They wanted to make her worship their idol. Tatiana began to pray to the true God and suddenly the earthquake began. The idol of Apollo fell down and broke to pieces. Part of the temple fell in and pressed down many pagans and pagan priests.
Then those evil people brought Tatiana to a court and torments. At first they began to beat her at her face and tear her eyes with iron hooks. But they got tired very soon because the body of the girl was very hard for them and they felt torments themselves. Then the tormentors began to ask the judge to stop torments because, as they said, they suffered even more then that girl. Then Tatiana prayed to the Lord about her tormentors so that He would open their eyes. And her prayer was heard. Their eyes were suddenly opened and they saw 4 angels around the girl. At once the ruler’s servants fell down to Tatiana’s feet and asked her forgiveness. All these 8 men believed in Christ and took torments and death from the ruler.
The next day the ruler sat down at his place of judgment and ordered to bring Tatiana to him. When she was brought in the ruler saw that she was completely healed. Then he began to praise her and ask to make a sacrifice to his idols. But all his effort was useless.
Then he ordered to bare Tatiana and cut her body with razors. When the pagans began to cut her body they saw that from her wounds was flowing milk instead of blood and a great fragrance spread everywhere. Tatiana was looking into the heavens and praying.
After that she was put to the ground and the ruler’s servants struck her with rods for a long time. But as it was in the first case, the tormentors themselves suffered even more then the innocent girl because God’s angels stood near Tatiana and hurt those who struck her. At last the ruler’s servants became so exhausted that they fell to the ground more dead than alive.
In the evening Tatiana was put to prison again. She was praying and praising the Lord there and the holy Angels were praising God with her.
The next morning Tatiana was brought to the court again. When the pagans saw her quite healthy with a face even more beautiful then before they were astonished and very much surprised. The ruler began to ask her to worship and make a sacrifice to their goddess Artemis and Tatiana made a show of agreement. So they led her to Artemis’s temple. When Tatiana was not far from the temple she prayed to the Lord. Suddenly a deafening clap of thunder rolled and lightning flashed and the fire from the sky burnt the temple with its idols, sacrifices and pagan priests and many unbelievers died from the lighting.
Again Tatiana was brought to the court. The pagans hang her there and tore her body with iron hooks and even tore out her breasts. Then they put her to prison. But in the prison Tatiana was healed again from all her wounds and the Angels appeared to her, comforting and encouraging her.
In the morning Tatiana was brought to the circus and a frightful lion was let out to tear her to peaces. But that fierce lion came to the girl and began to lick her feet.
Then the pagans took Tatiana, hung her again and tortured her. But Angels of the Lord helped her and hurt her tormentors.
Then Tatiana was thrown into the fire but the fire didn’t harm her. That made unbelievers think that the girl is a sorcerer. They cut her hair, put her into Zeus’ temple and closed her there hoping so to deprive Tatiana of her magic strength. Tatiana spent 2 days on that temple, worshiping God and praising Him with the Angels which appeared to her and encouraged her as before.
On the third day the pagan priests and multitudes came to the temple to make sacrifice to their idol Zeus. When they opened the temple they saw that their idol had fallen to the ground and broken to pieces, and Tatiana was praising God joyfully. So they took her to the court again.
The ruler didn’t know what new torments to invent to Tatiana so he declared her a death sentence. And the saint girl was truncated with a sword. They also killed Tatiana’s father since the ruler had known that he was a Christian too.
It was in 226, on the 4th year of the reign of Roman emperor Alexander Sever.

Oh, wow! Was this a true story? Why havent we heard more about her?
And you are right! It is inspiring! It is very inspiring to hear of others that have been faithful and true, even in severe persectution. How they were encouraged and strengthened and even healed. They werent abandoned in their darkest hours! Praise the Lord! |

Yes, it's a true story. It's taken from the Christian historical book, which was translated into Russian in 1906. It's like a gathering of different true stories taken from the times of persecutions which then were organized into the whole book. I'll add a new one soon, which is almost ready now (I just have to type it and correct my English)
