I was refering to any conjecture about a soul existing before conception. There is no indication in scripture that we pre-existed but there are plenty of indicators that an Omniscinet God foreknew our existance. The are many branches of the occult which believe in young souls and old souls but there again is no biblical support. |

You wouldn't happen to know the scripture that describes the soul(or spirit-again I'm not sure what it says) as comming from the seed of the man, would ya? I'm pretty sure it's OT, because I seem to remember someone on another forum quoting the verse and it stuck in my head as from an OT book, but that, and the gist, are all that remain . |

Hey, Steve!
I do not know how all these people can come up with scripture the way they do. I guess the more you study the Word and give advise to others about it, you eventually learn it. Here's something I started doing just recently: When I come upon an interesting verse and want to remember it, I high-light it of course, but then I jot it down on a blank page in the front of my Bible, with a note, like: "without excuse" Rom 1:20. Of course, this can't last too long, as you only have a couple of blank pages in your Bible that you can write on. But, it has been very helpful for me when that subject comes up and I need to remember where I saw it. Just a suggestion. |

Thanks for the suggestion ,Honeybare. I wish I had thought of that then. Definately a good idea. Right now, everytime I hear someone reference a scripture I have a questoin about, I try to remember it to look it up on Bible Gateway.com, and I add that specific page to my favorites under a subfolder labelled "scriptures".

Thanx for the link to E-Sword. I am planning on getting the Bible you suggested. I think if I can sell all the Mormon books I have purchased, I will be able to purchase more of what I need for my studies. I got a Strongs Concordance from someone, but don't know how to use it yet. Maybe downloading this E-Sword site and some other things will help me learn how.
