    Many nowadays as before are trying to discredit or twist the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ. We must not forget we are in a spiritual war.

    Many others fell slain, because the battle was God’s. 1 Chronicles 5:22

    From the pen of Charles Spurgeon:

    Dear Christian warrior fighting under the banner of the Lord Jesus, consider today’s verse with holy joy, for the same is true today as in biblical days of old - if the battle is of God, victory is certain. “The Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasswh had [only] 44,760 men ready for military service” (vs.18), yet in their war with the Hagarites, “they…took one hunred thousand people captive and many others fell slain” (vv. 21-22). This happened “because they cried out to [God] during the battle [and] He answered their prayers, because they trusted in Him” (vs.20).

    Whether we have an army of many or few makes no difference - it is up to us to go forth in Jehova’s name. Deliverance will come with even a handful of men for “the Lord Almighty is with us” (Psalm 46:7) and is our Captain. Israel did not neglect to take their shields, swords, bows and arrows with them, but they did not place their trust in weapons. We too should use the weapons at our disposal, but our confidence must rest in the Lord alone, for He is the shield of His people. The absolute reason for Israel’s extraordinary success lay in the fact that the battle was God’s.”

    Dear beloved, as you wage war with sin within and without - whether with doctrinal error or practical living, with spiritual wickedness in high or low places, or with the Devil and his allies - you are waging Jehova’s war. And unless He Himself can be overpowered, you need never fear defeat. Do not cower at the sight of superior numbers, shrink from difficulties, or fear what may appear to be impossible. Never flinch at either battle wounds or death, but strike the enemy with the “doulble-edged” (Heb. 4:12) “sword of the Spirit” (Eph. 6:17) and the slain will fall in droves.

    “The battle is the Lord’s and he will give [His enemies] into our hands” (1 Sam. 17:47). With sure footedness, strong hand, undaunted heart, and flaming zeal, run to the conflict. The hosts of evil will fly away “like chaff before the wind” (Psalm 35:5).

    Stand up! Stand up for Jesus!
    The strife will not be long;
    This day the noise of battle,
    The next the victor’s song.
    To those who vanquish evil
    A crown of life shall be;
    They with the King of Glory
    Shall reign eternally.

    George Duffeld, Jr. (1818-1888)

    From the Pen of Jim Reimann:

    “The battle is the Lord’s,” yet we are told “Put o n the full armor of God, so…you may be able to stand your ground” (Eph. 6:13). But remember, “It is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ” (2 Cor. 1:21). “Do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere…We are not of those who shrink back...but believe and are saved” (Heb. 10:35-36,39).

    ‘Praise the risen Lord Jesus Christ! The whip that flogs the devil! For that which he hate he ought to have more of!’ -C. S. Spurgeon

    At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure. Luke 10:21

    I tell you the truth, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy. A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world. So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy. In that day you will no longer ask me anything. I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete. John 16:20-24

    "I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them. John 17:13

    You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.' Acts 2:28

    And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit. Acts 13:52

    Yet he has not left himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy." Acts 14:17

    The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God--he and his whole family. Acts 16:34

    Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;

    perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. Romans 5:1-5

    Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. Romans 5:11

    Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Romans 12:15

    For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, Romans 14:17

    May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

    But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23

    But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice, Philippians 1:18

    So you too should be glad and rejoice with me. Philippians 2:18

    Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord! It is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and it is a safeguard for you. Philippians 3:1

    Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Philippians 4:4

    You became imitators of us and of the Lord; in spite of severe suffering, you welcomed the message with the joy given by the Holy Spirit. 1 Thessalonians 1:6

    You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy." Hebrews 1:9

    Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2

    Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4

    In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith--of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire--may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls. 1 Peter 1:6-9

    But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.

    1 Peter 4:13

    To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy--to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen. Jude 1:24-25

    Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. Revelation 19:7

    "Let me tell you something, no healthy person listens to himself. Healthy people talk to themselves. Healthy people talk to themselves, they don't listen. They say, "Self, quiet, here's what the Bible says, get in line." I'll tell you something else, that's...that's true in life. Wimpy people listen to themselves, strong people talk to themselves. They discipline themselves, they pull self in to line with truth. Don't be listening to yourself, what you're going to hear will just mess you up. You listen to the Word of God and then you talk to yourself. Pride...pride will just...all that introspection, that self- centeredness will just destroy your joy." John MacArthur

    "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7)
    "And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you." (Luke 12:29-31)

    The Cure for Anxiety

    "For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! Do not worry then, saying, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will we wear for clothing?' For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
    (Matthew 6:25-34)
