Hi! I greet everyone in the name of Jesus!
The Bible says: 1Th.5:16: Rejoice evermore. And, Php.4:4: Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. How can a Christian achieve it? So many believers look unhappy, or their joy is only temporary. What do you think? Please, share your opinions. God bless you!

Every aspect of a christians walk is based on His realtionship with His or hers heavenly Father:
If we walk close to the Master we are filled with His joy- unlike happiness the Joy that comes from heaven is independant on circumstance but flows from His Spirit to ours. Remember " the joy of the LORD is your strength.", No joy no strength, but be filled with His presence, let His joy flow through you and the natural result is a constant state of rejoicing. We rejoice in His goodness and our rejoicing is quite contiagious ![]() Hab 3:17 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Hab 3:18 Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. Hab 3:19 The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments. Jer 15:16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts. |

I agree with Violet, happiness is a choice. You can choose to be happy in all circumstances or choose to be sad in all circumstances. I've known people, who in the best of circumstances, were miserable and I've known people in the worst of circumstances were always joyful.
I also agree with Boanerges, a son is always happiest, when he's walking with his Father. |

I want to add some of my today's meditations/thoughts over this topic.
The Bible says that joy is a fruit of the Spirit: ...the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance... (Ga.5:22,23) And the other place of the Scripture says: Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. (Jn.15:4,5) So if we want to bear this fruit - joy (as well as all the other fruits), we should abide in Jesus. That means full obedience to Him and His Word... Am I right?

Psa 107:21 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
Psa 107:22 And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing. Psa 119:111 Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart. Psa 126:1 <A Song of degrees.> When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Psa 126:2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them. Psa 126:3 The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. Psa 126:4 Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south. Psa 126:5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. Psa 126:6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. |
