I think most of the major verions are able to be used by God to speak to and teach people. Some are better than others, some are terrible.

The Message "bible" is not the word of God, but one mans opinion on the word of God. If you research Rom 8:14 in the greek, you'll see that the Message version does not even address some of the major words in the verse and leaves them out all together.

God has used the KJV to do his work for years. I have not problem with people using this translation, but there is somthing wrong with saying it is perfect and the only good translation. Just check out this page: http://www.bible.ca/b-kjv-only.htm#proof

I like the English Standard Version because it is very straighforward and very loyal to the Greek and Hebrew.
