Question Why did Judas's Kiss....

I thought I'd ask these questions.

I never really heard much expounding on
this subject.

Question:

Why did Judas 'kiss' Jesus, instead of just pointing
him out to the soldiers and high priests when they
came to arrest Him?

Here's what I believe 'may' be 'some' of the answer.

It seems that Judas kissed Jesus to add to the betrayal.
He betrayed Jesus with what was supposed to be an
act of friendship.

It was the custom of the day at that time to 'greet' each
other with a 'kiss' on the cheek or neck of a man. Rarely
seen in in Christians today!

Also I feel to exemplify the total evil that was in this man,
Judas, who Satan used to 'hand over' our Lord!

John 6:70: Jesus answered them, Have not I
chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

John 6:71: He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of
Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being
one of the twelve.

This is practice can easily be seen in the following
scriptures.

Rom.16:16: Salute one another with an holy kiss.
The churches of Christ salute you.

1Cor.16:20: All the brethren greet you. Greet ye
one another with an holy kiss.

2Cor.13:12: Greet one another with an holy kiss.

1Th:5:26: Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.

2] Have you ever received a holy kiss from a
Christian brother or sister?

My family and I have on occassions, where the
person was full of the Love of God! And at times
we initiated the 'holy kiss'!

God Bless,

I greet many Brethren with a kiss on one or both cheeks. I've seen Ethiopian Christians kiss each other on the shoulders......

Well done study!!

It shows how complete Judas' betrayal was.

Good Job Brother Set free.

That was a good read and study for me.

I must admit, Ive never seen that hapen before. (Holy Kiss)
Being involved in Motorcyle Ministry in the past, I saw Brothers and Sisters greating each other with a hug all the time. Thats how I would greet a Brother or Sister automatically when seing them.
But you gave me something to think about. Thanks.

God Bless.

The kiss of affection......

What is really behind?

Jesus knew.............

We can be fooled.

Beware of the kiss on the cheek and a knife in your back.

Matthew 10:16
Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
