Acts 18:18 And Paul after this tarried there yet a good while, and then took his
leave of the brethren, and sailed thence into Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shorn his head in Cenchrea: for he had a vow. Head shave is "Heathen practice", what do you say?

He "shaved" he head (actually cut his hair in greif) because he was kicked out of Corinth for shareing the gospel to the Jews.
Cutting your hair isn't a heathen practice anymore then brushing your teeth are. |

Hi Daniel! How are you?
It was also a sign of grief and mourning.

Just curious, Daniel, in India, culturaly, is shaving one head a heathen practice there?
When you read the bible do not emplament your cultures traditions into the text or you will through your faith into a loop of confusion. Study jewish traditions and rituals so that you know the context of the bible so you do not get confused. The pastor at your church should be taught with the history of jewish law and other cultural stuff. In fact, he could answer you far better then anyone here. Unless they themselves are shepeards. |
