Default The call of the saved

2 tim 1:
9Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
There is something of a mystery regarding the salvation of the people of God, and this mystery is revealed in the gospel.
Paul calls the gospel a mystery, lets look at eph 6:
19And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
20For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
I believe Jesus speaks of the gospel as being a mystery as well in matt 13:
11He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
This kingdom gospel mystery, is that which shall be preached as a witness to all nations before the end comes, and my i add, right at the end, becaus it has been sorely neglected..
Matt 24:
14And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
Now as we go back to the text, something of a mysterious nature is revealed in vs 9
9Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began
It reads who hath saved us and called us. Please note the order here. it is written in a order not common to how we articulate salvation. That is we normally say and think of being called and then being saved, as a result of being called. But here we are said to be called because or a result of being saved..
This is the order from the Divine Mind, because the gospel finds its origin In God. Lets look at rom 1:
1Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God
Again the emphasis is the origin of this Gospel, and the perspective of this One who originated This Gospel. Its a eternal, everlasting Gospel perspective..
rev 14:
And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people
Its from everlasting to everlasting, as the Lords covenant mercy is, ps 103:
17But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;
In Gods Mind , who views things and calculates things from a unique eternal perspective , declares his chosen ones saved.
He has already accepted of the covenant blood of christ on their behalf, for he christ , from His perspective christ was slained from the foundation of the world. rev 13:
8And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. or we can say since the world began. I believe the blood was accepted God way before the world began, but i will save that for another post.
Now this being true, the redemptive benefits of the blood are a reality in Gods Mind.
Some of the benefits in Gods Mind of the blood of christ, slain from the foundation of the world:
eph 1:7 forgiveness
eph 1:7 redemption
rom 5:9 Justification
I will stop here and there will be a part 2, and we will continue on the subject, the call of the saved..
