Grew up poor. I never knew what it was to eat normally. To wear normal clothes.
My pastor taught me that if I cast all of my fears and doubts on the Lord, believed in Him with all I have, that He could make things better for me.
I did. And He did. On the day when I realized that I could no longer shut my kitchen cupboards because they were stuffed with food...on the day when I stood back and realized that I had a warm place to stay and I felt safe and in complete comfort, I wrote the Reverend Elston a thank-you letter. I thanked him for bringing me closer to the Lord.
Right where I belong.
