Dusty, I believe because of the hearts of Americans and Canadians today (and most of the civilized world, like Europe), we have placed too much emphasis on our limited "power" and not God's power. Even Christians today, we have no real faith and because of the mindset poured in us as we were younger, we have trouble excepting that much faith. God can only move on the
pure, faithful, and loving. God will not perform miracles on one who still allows sin in his life (which America is full of). And he cannot work in someone who does not FULLY trust him, and has let go of ALL malice and anger. Because of America's, Canada's, Europe's, etc mindset we subconsciously don't believe that miracles will really happen.
The church I attend is trying to learn this and we have had a message and interpretation of God telling us if we will have complete faith in Him, we will have miracles in 2008. I'm expecting it with all my heart.
In third world countries like the Middle-east or Africa, they're aren't brought up on the mindset we are today and are more willing to let go of anger and the do-it-yourself mindset and thus God can do a work in them.
I firmly believe that America needs as many missionaries as Africa. America has been lead away by the harlot church (in GREAT numbers) and the prosperity message is a "normal" message now days. We need to get back to the basics and learn them and then we can get in the Bible deeper. And my message to harlot churches, PLEASE give up the prosperity message, it's not doing anyone good. It's only putting the congregation in the false hope that if they give $100 they will get their blessing. You cannot buy God out. (Though tithes given to a true church is Biblical.)
