Gotta tell ya a secret: I am also the "most fiercely independent do it my own way kinda person I know"!! But if you'll stay WITH HIM LONG ENOUGH God has this incredibly wonderful habit of slowly wearing you down on that - WITH LOVE!!! Yes, I know, fairly 'dirty' tactics there! *NOT!!*
And over a fair ole period of time, He's 'worn me down' to being OBEDIENT to Him these days! Wooo, I tell ya, what you said is absolutely and positively right: the TRUE blessings that flow from doing what He says are worth more than all the gold in the whole world!!! Well, I sure wouldn't ever exchange, anyways!
