Gotta tell ya a secret: I am also the "most fiercely independent do it my own way kinda person I know"!! But if you'll stick WITH HIM LONG ENOUGH, God has this incredibly wonderful habit of slowly wearing you down on that - WITH LOVE!!! (Yes, I know, fairly 'dirty' tactics there! *NOT!!*)
And over a fair ole period of time, He's 'worn me down' to being OBEDIENT to Him these days! Wooo, I tell ya, what you said is absolutely and positively right: the TRUE blessings that flow from doing what He says are worth more than all the gold in the whole world!!! And the silver and platimum too. Well, I sure wouldn't ever exchange, anyways!!
